Well, its almost 2am and I'm up waiting for my computer to finish running a program. Soooo, how about I open this thread at 2am instead of 2pm like I usually do?
I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend. I am not religious, so its not really a holiday for me, but I will be making an Easter dinner anyway. However you celebrate it or don't celebrate it, Happy Easter!
2 a.m.? Man, I'm not worth a dang at that time of day/night! Hope your program finished running without any problems and that you had a good sleep...
I'm working my way back to my regular food routine today. My slightly modified version of the pouch test accomplished my goals -- detox from processed carbs, lose some water weight -- but all that protein has me constipated! Just can't take it any more, so am adding back more carbs (mostly oatmeal, fruits, veggies, high-fiber cereal), cutting back on protein and bumping up my fiber. So here's what's on my plate today:
Breakfast: 1 cup 1% milk, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal
Snack #1: 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. sugar-free preserves, 3/4 c. sliced strawberries
Snack #2: medium banana
[workout #1: lower body strength training, core work]
Lunch: 3 cups leafy romaine, 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts, 6 oz. grilled chicken strips, low-fat raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing
Snack #3: venti non-fat latte
Snack #4: medium apple
[workout #2: 50-60 minutes of cardio]
Snack #5: 80 calorie chewy granola bar (after workout)
Dinner: 5-6 oz. salmon, 1 cup steamed broccoli
Snack #6: 1 cup 1% milk, 1/3 c. Kellogg's AllBran Buds
Total calories: 1815
Carbs: 237.6
Fats: 45.9
Fiber: 34.2
Protein: 144.5
Today's weight: 186.6
One dose of willpower, coming up! Part of why my willpower has been so good this week is that I ate anything and everything I wanted while I was on vacation last week. I enjoyed being "bad" for a week, but realize that I must be good most of the time in order to be bad some of the time. Make sense?
In the old days, I would have berated myself for eating so much crap, then felt miserable and comforted myself with -- wait for it -- wait for it -- wait for it -- more crap. Vicious cycle would have ensued and I would have gained another 5, 10, 15 pounds and kept it on. These days, I let myself cut loose once in a while, but then come right back to center without beating myself up. Works out much better for me than the old system!!!

You really do need a better schedule lol I would rather stay up till 2 am then get up at 2 am though, since I can't seem to wake up on time no matter what time I go to bed!
Today i'm doing protein shake for breakfast and lunch I may have an aditional one if I start to feel woozey they are only 110 calories each. 2 cups of coffee no doubt and for dinner I am going to ruby tuesdays and will order the salad bar because I am a salad bar junky and will try like hell to eat all the low carb stuff......wish me luck lol

Friday changed somewhat - I kind of had to make myself eat all day, and I only managed to eat a bite or two of enchiladas - then I made 2 pieces of bacon instead. Late Sat night I finally felt hungry and had a lean cuisine (chicken parmesan).
Today is also Purim, a festive Jewish holiday. I'm not religious, either. Being from a mixed Jewish-Presbyterian home and raised in both faiths, I am pretty much a High Holy Days Jew and an Advent Presbyterian.
Let's see, today's menu was: B: 2 EAS protein drink guzzled in the car on the way to aquacise. E: 1 hour of aquacise, then 40 minutes of in-line skating machine, burned 300 calories on machine. L: 8 oz chicken drumstick meat. S: 1 venti decaf. D: 1 serving chili mac. Too lazy to calculate the totals, but I felt good today about my food choices. Kix
