Hm!  Glad to hear you are enjoying Anytime Fitness so far.  The one by my house is on the second floor of a building and has no elevator, so I'm thinking one would get an extra workout just hiking up the stairs!  Seriously, I think they must have another door that I can't see from my road.  I always feel sad and scared when I'm on the elliptical, mostly because I feel like my legs are going to snap off at the hips and fly across the room.  I need to get over my fear and just do the darn thing a few minutes at a time, I think it would be a good change-up from treadmill.  Kix

The elliptical didn't seem too hard on my knees - my thighs are still shaking intermittently hours later though.  The more I think about it the more I feel like its not as much because of the exercise as from 2 dumping episodes.  I think I mildly dumped right before I went to the gym and I dumped BAD this evening, worst ever.  I've exercised a lot harder than I did today and never had this shaky feeling I am having today.

Do you need a protein boost either just before or just after exercising?  The other day, I wasn't hungry and went to the gym to work out without eating breakfast first.  About halfway through my treadmill routine, I felt quite odd, almost like I was getting ready to have an out-of-body experience.  I stopped immediately and ate a protein bar and rested for ten minutes.  It seemed to help.  Lesson learned, do not go to the gym without eating first.  Too much exercise + no fuel = wobbly Kix.

Its possible, I'll eat something different tomorrow before my workout - today it was a kashi bar with only 8g of protein I think.  I thought the complex carbs would be beneficial for working out though.  I think it was just one of those "off days" and my episode in Target after dinner made me wonder, yet again, if I'm going to have hypoglycemia issues.

It was glorious today, although a little windy. I decided to skip class today and run outside. I did 5 miles!! The most ever and on a trail that is all hills, so I'm pretty happy about that. I'm not even sore, which is rare lately - I never thought I would walk again after this weekend! Now I get a three day weekend, woohoo! I'll be spending it packing and hopefully doing some runs.

It did get rather windy this afternoon/evening, didn't it?  I can always gauge how hard the wind is blowing when the garage door starts making mooing noises.  It was a cold wind, too, and I nearly froze my azz off leaving the rec center tonight after aquacise.  Imagine being able to do 5 miles and not even feel it?  I am impressed.  Oh, and good job on not leaving the packing til the VERY last minute!    You have a good reason, though, all the stuff you have been doing is way more fun that packing.   Kix

well i'm glad for your great day! We on the other hand have had a incredibly crappy day  snow wind gusts upto 50 mph , Lake effect snow warnings , oh and Monday we ran out of fuel and I refuse to buy more and 425 a gal for kerosene, So we are burning wood full time.  hmmmm i'm embarrased about my lack of exercise this week . I have not wanted to do anything and top that off with being really busy and its easy to make excuses, after work today I went Easter shopping and yesterday I went food shopping after work. So today I walked the mall a few 100 times trying to get my kids a few things for Sunday. so It wasn't sweaty but it was long.  Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend from grade school after work. I need to make a wokout schedule and stick to it.... Estelle

BRR, I am sorry to hear about your craptacular weather.  I'm also sorry to hear you have to buy heating fuel -- years ago, when I was working, the feds wanted me to take a job assignment in Augusta, Maine.  I've lived on the East Coast before, but always in urban areas, so I did some research and learned that many of the homes in Augusta require heating oil!  It sounded scary and expensive, so I declined (and lucky me, to punish me they transferred me to Olympia, WA. I'd have been better off in Maine, I think!) No need to make excuses about not exercising.  People get busy.  I've only managed to do what I consider "formal" exercise every other day this week, with the aquacise classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  I think walking the mall counts as exercise, you were moving around and not sitting at home thinking about eating. I'm often colorful, but not in such obvious ways!    I wanted to try this shade of grey, and I really do not like it.  It is not colorful at all. Kix
