Hiya - what're you eating today?  I went to a mexican restaurant last night with husband and friends, and unfortunately filled up on chips.  Our food was taking forever and all I'd had to that point was a glass of milk.  I gorged (its funny to imagine about 20 chips being a gorge) and today I am feeling it in the salt department.  I am swollen! I also had about 10 piece of lifesavers over the course of the evening.  Although my calories were low yesterday (500ish), they were all bad calories and we won't even talk about my protein numbers.  Here's hoping I shape up today!  How about you?  What're you eating today?

Hey QT, Thanks for your help on friday, I woke up with almost the same pain and it has gradualy gotten better ....i'm assuming its the exercise but I can still feel it. I guess i'm just really out of shape in the abdomen  muscle area. ... I had a busy weekend and my food choices are never very good when I'm not at work because its too easy to eat when ever I want. So its always the wrong choice and I fill up on the dumb empty calories.  Today here is my Nut info I'll chgange it if its varies. Edit: well that didn't exactly workout! lol  Jerry burned the corned beef so I filled up on the cabbage and ate 1/2  a hard roll lol ( told ya I make bad choices ) I made some  pudding and before I go to bed I will make a protein shake.  I had 2 coffees today with skim milk  B=light and fit yogurt I am going to have a protein shake for Lunch  And for dinner jerry is making corned beef and cabbage  SS

Hi, Jen!  I was super bad while I was on vacation -- pretty much ate anything and everything I wanted.  And I did not exercise very often, so the scale shot up.  What a surprise (not).   Anyway, I'm doing a modified version of the pouch test to get myself back on track.  The true pouch test almost totally eliminates carbs from your diet, but I'm afraid if I do that I won't have the energy to exercise.  So I'm getting carbs in my protein shakes from milk and non-fat milk powder.  I'm hoping that by doing 2-3 days of liquid protein then progressing from soft to firm to solid proteins, that I'll "reset" my pouch, detox from all the crap I've been eating, and just get back to my normal routine.  Anyway, here's my plan for the day -  Feeding #1:  1 cup 1% milk in my morning coffee Feeding #2:  1 cup skim milk, 1 packet No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1/3 nonfat powdered milk Feeding #3:  1 cup skim milk, 1 packet No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1/3 nonfat powdered milk [workout #1:  lower body strength training, core work] Feeding #4:  1 cup skim milk, 1 packet No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1/3 nonfat powdered milk Feeding #5:  venti non-fat latte w/ sugar-free vanilla syrup Feeding #6:  1 cup skim milk, 1 packet No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1/3 nonfat powdered milk [workout #2:  30 minutes elliptical trainer, 20-30 minutes on rowing machine] Feeding #7:  1 cup skim milk, 1 packet No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1/3 nonfat powdered milk Feeding #8:  1 cup 1% milk Total calories:  1560 Carbs:  235.2 Fats:  10.1 Fiber:  20.0 Protein:  145.5 Today's weight:  198.1

Holey moley that's a lot of CIB!  I like the strawberry and vanilla - drink those right away and then wait like a week and finally suck down the chocolate, only so I can buy more strawberry and vanilla.  Good luck on the detox!

Yeah, it's a lot of CIB, but that's the only protein drink I found that I could tolerate, and I only like the chocolate.  I know there are better protein drinks on the market, but since I'm only planning to do this for 2-3 days, I figured CIB will be okay.   So far, so good on the detox.  I knew I was carrying around a lot of water weight, but I got rid of a lot of that yesterday (8 pounds gone in one day - definite proof that it was water weight!!!).  I'm going to do liquids again today (Tuesday) and perhaps Wednesday as well.  But I'm already looking forward to having some solid protein again.  Who knew I could look forward to having a hard-boiled egg so much???   I'll keep you posted on my progress!!! Ugh.  I felt so bloated from poor food choices this weekend that I did not even want to think about breakfast before I went to the gym.  Bad idea.  B: None E: 300 calories on treadmill plus lower body strength training S: 1 venti decaf L: 9 oz dark meat chicken, 2 slices pumpernickel bread (felt ill, think I was trying to dump on the soy ginger sauce I used on the chicken) D: picked about 2 oz of beef out of the beef stew, and 1 slice pumpernickel bread S: 2 EAS protein drinks (I was craving protein) S1: handful of evil pretzels left over from weekend I don't know about everyone else, but my energy level drops significantly when I make poor food choices.  Here's to eating protein, vitamins, and plenty of liquids! My energy level definitely drops when I make poor food choices, so you are not alone on that one.  If I want good energy levels, I need to eat a combination of good carbs, some fats, and good protein every time I eat.  The only exception to that is my pre-workout snack; then I do okay if it's mostly good carbs and a little fat, with limited protein.  Usually a yogurt w/ a little granola, or a piece of fruit with a little peanut butter or some cheese.   Definitely bad idea to work out on an empty tummy - that's a sure-fire way for me to feel like total crap when I'm done exercising, plus I don't usually have a good workout when I do that.  Next time, have a snack before you go, even if it's just some milk!   Kellie

Bad day - terrible headache so left work after being there 2 hours. Went to my Mom's to pick up dinner she had made, and ate a couple SF cookies ... started dumping terribly before I even got home! Worst dumping yet (she swears they were SF and they looked like the ones I buy). I ended up in the shower, then in jammies for the rest of the day.  Headaches finally went away, for the most part and hubby and I went last night to Lowes for some wood he needed and flowers for the front yard. Planted them in the semi dark at 7PM last night. Pre B - SF NF Brown Sugar Latte B - greek yogurt w/blueberries S - 2 SF cookies L - nothing S - nothing D -  a few bites of corned beef, lots of cabbage, one bite of potato, 1 slice Irish Soda Bread S - slice of turkey, 3 Fontina cheese chunks, 1 flat cracker, red grapes
