OK Step away from the scale!!!!!!!! One huge thing that I have learned from this entire experience is that scales are our enemy lol  No really alot can play a role in the whole thing for instance what did you weigh last monday? were you a little dehydrated on friday when you weighed in ? did you have looser than normal bm's on friday when you weighed in? It could simply be because fridays weight was off more so than todays. Was fridays weigh in a reg weigh in did you lose all of a sudden alot?. Last night I weighed 268 I got up this morning I weighed 263 thats 5 lbs in one night . The reason It was so differewnt was because #1 I drank on saturday night and drinking makes me retain water. #2 I knew that was going to happen so I drank a huge amount yesterday to try and flu**** out of my system and I got up 3 times in the middle of the night and peed .   I have reatined 10 lbs of water I know that sounds impossible but I have  in 2 days time lost 10 lbs and I know its all water!!  7lbs is only 7 bottles of water. Mostly I know its hard to weigh in everyday and then it just gets you so depressed because you know your doing all the right stuff and went through this whole surgery thing and your really getting frustrated because your afraid that it wont work for you!  I know I feel it too :(  I would come give ya a big hug if I could but your like 7 hours away. My best friend lives in burlington and I am going this summer so maybe i'll give ya a big hug then lol  I know this isn't really any help but I really do understand , more than I wish I did actually Estelle

I echo Estelle - step away from the scale! It's never all that accurate in telling us all that is happening with our bodies and can completely freak us out! I know I gained 5 pounds this week and it is ALL water, I can just tell. Some stuff I ate has freaked out my body and I am drinking tons, just like Estelle. The alcohol could of had that affect on you as well, it usually makes people retain water big time. Give it a couple of days, don't drink any alcohol and up your water intake and I'll bet you will see those 7 pounds gone in no time. Aren't our bodies just fun

Definitely don't weight yourself too often.  But also, I would REALLY check with your dietician and surgeon about drinking alcohol so soon after surgery.  Alcohol can cause ulcers VERY quickly.  I know my surgeon has said no alcohol for at least one year post surgery. Hang in there and let us know how it goes!

Believe me I know how important it is to have that scale cooperate.  We all have our battles with the iron monster.  What you need to realize is that chances are it is not FAT you gained...so it will be alot easier to get rid of it.  What screams out at me is your choices....doesn't sound very nutritious to me. Your body is still healing and it needs protein. I won't preach...just showing concern.  Fear not, I bet you will lose big next week.  Hang in there!  HUGS  Jeanine

Sh*t happens - its not fat, you couldn't have gained 7 lbs of fat.  A few days with lots of water and low salt will probably flush out a lot of water retention and you'll be back where you were.  If you are constipated that might make a difference on the scale - it certainly does for me.  Hell, on my scale if you stand on it funny you'll be 5 lbs higher or lower.  Don't worry about it yet, there's no reason to.  Now if you'd said "I haven't lost anything in a month, in fact I've gained 7 lbs"  I'd say worry and re-examine what you are doing.  Remember protein protein protein.  Water water water.  Exercise (I'm not one to talk there).  Everything else is a luxury, but protein and water are not.
