I will be starting my pre-op diet on Monday. I am a bit nervous about it. Ive never been good at diets...hence the reason for the WLS.  Im gonna give it my all...thats all I can do.  any good tips? the diet consists of protein shakes for all 3 meals...with SF items between meals, also broth too, if i am still hungry.Plus lots of water.

No advice, really.  How long is this for?  If its for any extended duration I can honestly say that the first few days are the hardest - you don't feel good physically - headachey, light-headed.  If its only for a week or two, hooray!  If its longer than that, wow.  Best of luck, you'll do fine.

I have the WORST gag reflex of all time.

I was on the pre-op diet for 4 weeks.  2 weeks with soup and pickles and 2 weeks just shakes.

I found the chocolate OptiCrap bearable-just...

use very cold water, mix in a magic bullet, and suck it back in thirds.

worked for me.

best of luck

Take it 1 shake at a time 1 meal at a time... And each time you want to 'cheat' ask yourself how badly you want the surgery... The preop diet is to prepare you for the surgery and for after. Count yourself backwards ... I only have x # left to keep the light at the end of your tunnel in sight and you'll do perfectly... Good luck and keep us posted :)

YOU CAN DO IT LISA!!  I was on the liquid diet for 6 weeks. The hardest time was the first few days, then honestly it gets easier.  Plan something to make those first few days go by fast.  2 weeks should be easy, but then I'm not in your shoes. You have all of us here if you need to vent or need support.  HUGS  Jeanine

You can so do this!!! Remember it's all for a better you. I did the 2 week liquid diet too, so hard, but if I can do it anyone can. I thought I'd be really smart and started a modified liquid diet 3 weeks before surgry - don't! I loved Unjury chocolate protein powder, I mixed it with nonfat milk and drank it. I also had tons of SF jello in the fridge and made homemade chicken broth and froze it before starting the liquid diet. It was so much better than canned. Hubby would bring home soup when he'd get himself dinner, we'd strain it and I'd drink it. I felt like I lived on SF popcicles! Yummy. Best wishes to you as you begim your journey!
