Clothing exchange

I posted a couple of things on the OH clothing exchange and had an OVERWHELMING response within hours.  I had no idea it was so active.  Now I've gone through my closet and will be sending out 3 big boxes of clothes to 3 different people.  I had no idea I still had that many clothes!  I gave a bunch to goodwill a few months ago.  Anyway, my point is, I urge any of you to give extra clothes or old clothes or too-big clothes to your support group clothing exchange, to goodwill, or to the clothing exchange on OH.  I don't know about other sizes but there was a serious demand for the 30/32s and 26/28s I posted about.  I had about  8 people write me at the same time - I let the first three have dibs on everything.  (And for my own benefit, I'd like to mention I am falling into the 26, 24, 22 range, hint hint, if you are overwhelmed with extra clothes in those sizes).  I promise when I'm through with them I'll forward them on to other people too.

Nice post Jen,  It is so hard to find cloths in the larger sizes so its great your doing that, Jeanine gave me some of hers so I know first hand how great it was to be on the recieving end :) Also something the woman who leads our docs support group meetings said is that they collect items in the larger sizes for some of the shutins :( which I thought was really good too.

Also I'd suggest saving one of your largest outfits that you spent alot of time in. I did and I take it out now and again and people just cannot believe I used to fit it. The shirt is a 30/32 and the pants are 26/28 and I was busting out of both! A neighbor of mine had her surgery several months before I did and she gave me tons of clothes and I have since passed them along to others and my WONDERFUL ANGEL~~~>AMBER sent me some clothes some of which I'm still wearing. I see a lot of people posting  their clothes on Ebay as well. I just didn't feel right about that though (I'm not begruding anyone I know clothes are expensive) I just felt like passing along the goodwill that had been extended to me. Thanks for your post, Jamie April 06 297 today 170
