Gym is Open (Wednesday 2/20)
The gym is open!
I plan to go to the gym and do killer treadmill and upper body strength training. No loitering, either, I have to get back home and finish my overhaul of my federal resume. Federal resumes are a giant PIA because you have to include all sorts of silly stuff. I need to have it in the mail by noon Thurs.

so today I celebrated by doing 30 mins on the Dreadmill as a friend puts it! LOL

I was a bit sore from my twosome of exercise yesterday (strength training class in the morning and a run in the afternoon), so I modified my workout today.
I did 37 minutes on the treadmill, alternating between walking at a 15% incline and running at a 2% incline. Then I did 16 minutes on the bike - I have got to do more on that thing! I was doing the spinning bike but hated it and finally decided that I need to do something before the camp, so I choose the regular bikes. I like that much better!
I'm still glowing from my run yesterday - running outside is so much more fun than on a treadmill. I feel like a real runner now!
*edited to add a walk at lunch today - 2.5 miles in the cold, although I got nice a sweaty!

Morning Kix,
It is 49 and rainy here today, so I went into the gym instead of the pool. I also wanted to workout earlier than later, so this was good for me today. I'm a "novice" in the gym, and avoid that area because I do not like to sweat! I did 15 minutes on the treadmill 1/2 running and 1/2 walking, 20minutes on the bike in fat burn mode, then about 20 - 25 minutes with the weight machines. I'm tired, and ready for the rest of my day. I really appreciated walking out of the gym and feeling the cool air!
Hi, Kix! Hope the resume overhaul went well - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that 2008 is the year you once again become gainfully and happily employed!!!!
As for my exercise plan, I have to leave work early for a dentist appointment, so did not go to the gym at lunch. I'll go after the dentist appointment and plan to do my strength training routine for upper body and lower body, plus some core work. That usually takes about an hour and forty-five minutes, then I usually stretch for 10-15 minutes, which feels great. Anyway, that's my plan for today -

I spent the whole morning at the dentists only to be told that i would have to go to the oral surgeons next Wednesday
So grrrr to me.... my face feels like it is going to explode and she wasn't able to prescribe anything except vicodan which i am allergic to, so i am SOL... not that i am whining or anything....lol
my plan is to go to my yoga class tonight if i can find my stash of emergency darvocet, if not, i'll probably just do my pilates video at home.

I'm at the lab all day, but I've been taking periodic walks since I got here - 10 min per hour have been dedicated to returning circulation to my legs. It reminds me of when I was walking every two hours in the hospital, except I'm wearing pants and there's no IV and no happy drugs.. and my hair is brushed and I've showered.
I've also got a long trek ahead of me as I go to my next class - its all the way across campus so I get a good walk in every Wed with that. I have a presentation today on how plague bacteria evade your immune system, and how handy they would be as a bioweapon. Nifty. :)
Still forgot to buy a pedometer. This is getting crazy, just going to have to order one from Amazon.
Personaly I think overhauling your resume is a workout enough, If your anything like me your heart rate will increase and your blood pressure will go up and your face will get all red and.........well see what I mean? lol
I'm at work right now its 9:36 pm and my son he is 10, is at a b-day party that is supposed to be a sleep over but his over protective mother won't let him sleep over because she is, well over protective (shew glad thats not me) lol. Anyway I have to let him stay untill they go to bed so because I live so far from work and where he goes to school I just stayed down here untill its over. Anyway My DH and teenager dropped me off at the gym and gave me 30 mins to get my work out done so they could pick me up and go to dinner. Well when I walked in all the elliptical machines were taken and since I only had 30 mins I couldn't wait, so I got on the tredmill and I really had a work out. I set the machine for 30 mins on weight loss and did the 30 mins I went 1.5 miles in 30 mins when I got off I was sweating like crazy which does not always happen to me on the elliptical, which kinda surprised me because I was always told the elliptical was a better workout. So what do you think? I may do more of the tredmill now, even though the calories burned on the tredmill were less than the calories on the elliptical. The owner of the gym said he didn't believe either one lol
It was a workout just to type that lol
