Well its President's day - the sale holiday right? Stay away from pretzels unless you want to do your best impression of our current president!
I ended up staying home today - I caught my husband's cold. I've been drinking water, sucking on vitamin C and zinc, and chilling out in bed watching Firefly. I don't feel super bad, just a sore throat mostly and the too hot too cold thing that is always so annoying. I wanted to be proactive about this cold though because the last one hit me hard and took forever to get over.
So how's the eating going today? Here's mine so far and my plan for the rest of the day.
B - 16oz mootopia
L - Tom Yum soup with chicken (hoping to heal the cold)
S - I'm thinking a banana
D - the other breast off the rotisserie chicken in the fridge, some grapes, and maybe a little cheese OR a quesadilla with dark meat from the same chicken, a whole grain tortilla, mozzarella, spinach, and roasted red bell pepper - I will also try to drink a v-8 before or after dinner
S - 2 mandarin oranges and if I want it, a cup of NSA tapioca
I don't know about the calories today, not tracking them, but it's similar to what I had yesterday so probably around 900-1000 calories and 70-80g protein
I checked out the Daily Plate website and posted all I ate today so it figured it all out for me! Way cool! The original calorie total was 1148 but they deducted calories for my Curves workout. Hope you're feeling better soon Jen! HUGS Jeanine

This is a new week and it is my goal to post my food everyday this week. So, here I am
.
I've got the 9 pounds to lose by my Adventure Race camp, so I am really watching it this week. I have 3 specific goals for this week:
1. drink at least 96 ounces of water
2. No candy or chocolate! (I imagine if I don't eat any of my usual treats, I just might lose the weight fairly quickly)
3. Keep my calories to about 1800-2000.
I did fairly well, considering I was having some major sugar issues today. I could not keep my sugar up and had to eat every hour. All because I waited too long to eat breakfast - threw me off all day.
pre-workout snack: PB pudding
breakfast: fat free yogurt, small banana
lunch: WW Honestyle Chicken and Green Beans
snack: Atkins protein bar
snack: Atkins protein bar
snack: Atkins protein bar
dinner: 1/2 of homemade chicken enchilada
dinner, cont: the other 1/2 of homemade chicken enchilada
snack: 3 granola bites
calories: 1941
fat: 63
carbs: 211
fiber: 39
Protein: 118
water: 96 ounces already, more later tonight
What I am most proud of...no candy! That has been a major problem the past few weeks, just getting a little out of control. But today was encouraging and it will help motivate me this week!

Hey QT, I hope your feeling better soon, colds suck!
I could have eaten cow today and I may still lol I did eat part of one lol
B=1 egg and a 1/4 english muffin
L= 5 pieces of veggie sushi
s=3 more sushi
D=broccoli and about 2 oz of beef
I know sushi is not a good idea but I was craving it terrible so I gave in.
I will before bed have a protein drink
I went to the GYM today and did 30 mins on the elliptical, Yesterday I went sledding with the boys and wow did I miss the padding on my rear.
See Ya
SS
Ugh, you had to mention pretzels. I did really well this morning and then ate pretzels along with my dinner. I think I want to die now.
My sister is eating the rest of the pretzels, so I'm no longer in danger!
B: 1 Instone protein pudding and 1 EAS protein shake @210 calories, 37g protein
L: 1/2 big azz salad (more shrimp, no cheese, less dressing) @300 calories, 30g protein
D: 1 serving mashed potatoes with 1 serving ground beef w/onion gravy
15,000 pretzels
No exercise today, I had to rest my foot.

At least you stayed away from the habanero dip! I ordered some of the Kay's naturals pretzels - 10g protein per little bag. They aren't here yet, and I don't know how they'll be but I'll give you a review once they get here. Have you ever tried any of the soy chips or anything? If you are determined have some crunchy carby things, at least those get you some protein. I tried a few brands early out with mixed results. The ones that look like mini rice cakes were decent, but some of the really crunchy ones that look like chex were not good at all. I've sampled a few Kay's products and they were decent, but I haven't tried the pretzels. We shall see!
(hangs head in shame) I did have a smal bite of habanero dip, I totally forgot. Not sure how I forgot, the stuff was even hotter today. I only dipped six pretzel sticks in the dip (not all at once) because my pouch gave off an alarming warning sound, almost like an angry feral dog.
I really need to not eat anything crunchy other than protein-laced Special K. I've tried high protein multigrain, low carb corn cakes (like rice cakes) and gobbled them up like a starving orphan. For some reason, I can moderate myself when eating dry Special K. Maybe because it's such a hassle to eat my pouch and brain work at the same time. The other stuff, I can just shovel it in until I'm stuffed and ill.

OK I know I should not be laughing, but this reminds me of every autumn when we get our 40-50 bushels of green chile from new mexico and roast it./peel it all over about a week. We split it out amongst everyone who participates in the roast-a-thon. And of course you snack on it while you peel sometimes - and your butt is on fire for days, yet you still eat more. With the really hot one, you would wake up in the middle of the night with horrible abdominal cramps, but you still eat more the next day. Sensible.
I was glad to know I could still eat green chile post-op, its been a big "food love" since I was a baby in New Mexico. I have not tried any that is really hot though, I'd be scared since it goes straight to your intestine so quickly.
Firefly? I knew I adored you for a reason. My girlfriend and I love Firefly and Serenity, and are really wishing/waiting for Joss' next production, whatever it might be. We occasionally burst out into the theme song from Firefly. And I'll replay one of Jayne's line from Serenity -- "Let's be bad guys" -- at least 4-5 times every time we watch the movie.
