Calorie Countdown - Its Valentines Day, did we stay out of the chocolate?

So far no chocolate for me.  No anything actually, I just woke up.  Then I rode the bike.  Now I am drinking water.  I am hoping hubby brings me a latte when he comes home from class.  For a few months (Nov-Jan) I was having serious chocolate issues, but now I am craving fruit and fruity flavors.  That's much better - you can eat a lot of fruit for the same calories as two pieces of chocolate.  Maybe its spring, not so many rich tempting foods around.  I hope everyone has a happy V-day.  And remember its ok to indulge in a little something sweet and tasty every now and again so if a piece of candy (regular or sugar free) lands in your mouth I won't tell.  And whether you've got a sweetie or not, remember what Kellie said in her VD post - love yourself! 

So far, so good on staying out of the chocolate.  We'll see if that holds true for the rest of the day!  Aunt Flo arrived a couple days early, so I still have an increased appetite.  Am trying to keep myself reigned in, sometimes more successfully than others.  Right now, not so successfully as I picked up a bagel in the lunch room and am currently knoshing away.  Anyway, here's what I've done and my plan for the rest of Valentine's Day -    

B - 1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker weight control oatmeal

S #1 - 1 c. lowfat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, ~ 1/2 c. sliced strawberries
S #2 - 1 medium banana, 1 serving Quaker multigrain minis, ~1 tbsp. natural peanut butter

[workout #1 - upper body strength training, core work]

L - Lean Cuisine fiesta grilled chicken, plus I'm currently knoshing on a plain bagel (unplanned carbs!!!!)

S #3 - venti non-fat latte w/ sugar-free vanilla syrup

S #4 - 1 slice whole-wheat bread, 3 slices turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese
[workout #2 - 60 minutes cardio]

D - broiled salmon, steamed veggies, maybe a salad

S #5 - Healthy Choice fudge bar

Hi Jen,  Back from our trip, I lost a pound, and I'm happy. We had a good time, despite hubby being very sick. He was such a trooper. We walked so much this past weekend, it felt good to be able to move. Florida was fun, great weather until the day we left. We don't celebrate Valentine's, our anniversary is on the 17th so we do something then instead, This year we've promised each other no gifts because of these trips (gift enough). We leave for Tucson tomorrow night, come home on our anniversary. No chocolate for me, I do have some sugar free at home, but it's not a chocolate wanting day for me. Pre B - SF NF Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte B - 2 string cheese, 3 RF triscuits S - cottage cheese and Splenda peaches L - leftover crockpot chicken fajitas with black beans added in. S - banana, fruit biscuits D - pot roast, carrots, bite of a potato S - sliced mangos V - done W - 1/2 E - none today

Happy Early Anniversary!  Enjoy Tuscon.  My husband is from Phoenix and my dad lives in Tuscon, and I have to say the only time of year I like to visit the area is early spring.  Its too hot and dry for me the rest of the year!

Thanks Jen! Don't know about the weather - they are expecting snow flurries tonight. Son called and said it's pouring rain right now. We're driving from Tucson tonight to Sierra Vista a little over an hour away. I'm so cold all the time I don't like cold weather anymore!

I did not stay out of the chocolate - I had half of a Godiva dark chocolate bar with my latte and I will have the other half after dinner tonight.  Its Valentines day dammit :)  Breakfast - slept through Meal 1 - chicken salad in a spinach wrap (ate about 2/3 of the small tortilla and 2-3oz of chicken salad)   Snack - 2% grande latte, 1/2 chocolate bar Snack - v8, 1 cup green grapes Meal 2 - spinach salad with chicken, parmesan, avocado, tomato, carrot, red bell pepper, and sunflower seeds and fat free italian dressing (ate about 1 and 1/2 cups, overestimated calories for sure) Meal 3 - 3oz steak, 1/3 of a medium baked potato with salsa Snack - 1/2 chocolate bar - if you are going to have it, go for the quality stuff I say Calories - 1131 Fat - 46 Carbs -88 Fiber - 11 Protein - 70  Exercise - cleaning, shopping, and 30 minutes on the bike Water - working hard to get in extra - headache for the past week either B-12 or dehydration I think Vitamins - halfway there

OH NO!  My husband just called to say he is on his way home with 3lb box of candy from See's Candy that a patient gave to him for Valentines Day.  I DIDN'T HAVE THE WILL POWER TO SAY 'DO NOT!'.......Heaven help me.

Put them in the freezer.

I didn't manage to stay out of the chocolate either - I had one extra dark Godiva truffle left from my box of Christmas truffles, and I enjoyed it yesterday evening.  It was delightful and worth every calorie.  Now, of course, I am out of Godiva; a situation which will have to be remedied soon!  I decided long ago that when I really wanted chocolate I could have some, but I'm only willing to "spend" my calories on the really good stuff!!!!   Looks like you had a good day in spite of the chocolate bar foray - way to go Kellie
