Does it seem like February is taking forever?  Not only that, it's a leap year this year, so we get an extra day of February.  Ugh. The gym is open.   I hope my exercise day is more productive, and that the gym fixed whatever in the heck it was that caused the power to go out during my workout yesterday). What did you do to move your body today? Kix

It does seem like Feb. has been around for a while, and it's only the 8th! I am so unbelievably ready for spring!! I didn't think I would be able to get up this morning since I was up until 12:30am talking to a boy (a very nice one who just might have some potential - I'll spill details when there are more, I just don't want to jinx it right now - I know, silly) but I did and ran 4 miles again, yahoo!! It still isn't super easy but I imagine it will get that way soon. I actually set up a training schedule for the next two months and it includes 4 days of running 4 miles each time, so I had better get use to it I'm heading to Colorado Springs this weekend to spend it with mom - we have a packed weekend planned but I'm excited to get away for a bit. We are having our "Thanksgiving Dinner" tonight, since I had to miss it when I was in hell (otherwise known as St. Louis) during the real holiday. She's making my fav meal, turkey and dressing! Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm still strolling the halls here, but I got smart and started doing the halls in the other wing of the building... LOL I'm off work Monday, but after that I'm going to do the treadmill each day... the doc said it would be okay as long as I didn't use any incline or real speed.... sigh...

Hi all, So I have been going to the gym 3 or so times a week and doing pretty well with it, and Wed i went to my first Yoga class, boy am i sore, but i made it through the whole class, and was able to do almost all of the poses with little difficulty (i may be a big girl, but i could still do the splits at 300lbs ). But i have encountered a problem, I am getting to the point where i am feeling like i am  ready to start doing a little running on the treadmill but i cannot find a sports bra that is supportive enough to handle "the girls" (those two and my saggy thighs are about the only things that aren't shrinking fast enough for me...). I wear 2 regular sports bras when i work out, and i still have too much movement, so short of strapping myself down with ace bandages i am at a loss... anyone have any ideas? plan for today is 1 mile warm up on treadmill, 6 mile weight-loss course on bike (working up the courage to take a spin class) and then about 1 hour on evil leg machines...

I haven't tried them, but I've read that the sports bras by Enell are hands-down the best for large-breasted women.  You should be able to get information at www.enell.com, or just search online.  Not sure if they are carried in brick-and-mortar stores, but am sure you can find them somewhere!   Kellie

My legs are sore from all that walking yesterday (and my lower back is wailing).  I've walked around a lot already today, really trying to up my walking at least since the "formal exercise" has been in the toilet lately.  I am here all evening and will take numerous walks around the building and around campus.  I have not bought a pedometer yet - I was going to look for one this weekend.  I always forget when I'm at the store.  I ordered a free one through some program but it never came and then I didn't think about it.  Once I get one I am going to really try to work up to the 10,000 steps a day.

Hi, Kix.  Like PJ, I ready for spring NOW!!!  I need to see sunshine and feel a warm breeze on my face.  Heck, I'd even be happy to see the dandelions that crop up in my yard every year....   As far as exercise, I went to the gym at lunch but had to do a shorter workout because I had a meeting that I almost forgot about -- oops.  Anyway, I did all of my upper body routine but didn't do any core work.  I'm going back to the gym after work for cardio, so may do some core work if I have the energy.  If not, I'll spend some extra time on core work tomorrow during my lengthy Saturday workout session.   I feel really good about my exercise this week - counting today, I did 2-a-days four days this week, and one day of just cardio.  Pretty good for someone who used to huff and puff just walking up one flight of stairs, eh?   Hope everyone has a great weekend -  Kellie

Kix, It has been BEAUTIFUL here the past couple of days -- low to mid 70's, sunshine, no clouds.  I've been enjoying the great weather at the pool - and I can definately see the tan lines coming back on my back, chest and FEET.  I wear water sox in the pool, and have a tan from my ankles up! LOL The snow covered mountains look magnificent here today - each direction I look I can see snow covered peaks. I taugh****er aerobics this morning themed on legs.  Yesterday, we worked on arms.  I'm enjoying the extra teaching time since that helps me to get extra workout time. I'm so glad that it is warmer here for now!
