I sooooo understand my surgery date is not set yet but I am nervous and yeah a little scared I think I have sabortaged myself a few times due to it. But what I keep reminding myself is that I am doing this for my kids because I want them to have the energy and the health to keep up with them. I will pray for you and I have faith that you will do fine. Diana

ANY surgery is downright scary!!  But for those of you waiting to have your WLS or just thinking about it...What's even more scary is NOT having it.  Where will you end up...how will you live?  What type of existence will you have if you continue down the path that brings you to present day?  Just something to think about.  Usually what's scary is the unknown...thats where we all can help you here...we can answer questions, ease your mind and just be a shoulder if  you need one. Life is good.....life with WLS is even better!  HUGS  Jeanine

Lizzie, I duno if its normal to worry but for me it was a way of life! The night before my surgery I held my 9 year old and cried, I knew I wasn't going to change my mind but my DH saw my anxiety and told me too.  I have never regreted this once.  Good Luck & Congrats on living your life! Estelle

I was a see-saw of emotions before surgery.  I was scared, then I was excited, then I thought about calling it off, then I was excited... its natural.  Surgery is scary for anyone, and its harder when its not an emergency life or death situation because you have time to have second thoughts.  Its ok.  Pretty soon you'll be on the other side and all will be well :)

OH SWEETIE,         ITS NORMAL TO HAVE ALOT OF EMOTIONS GOING ON. AT LEAST THATS A FEW MORE DAYS LESS TO WORRY BEFORE ITS ALL OVER HUH? AND JEEZ,  YOU ARE A MOM... THAT ALONE IS ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT. BUT JUST TRY TO THINK OF THE LONG HAUL DOWN THE ROAD... I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW YOUR LIFE IS GONNA CHANGE FOR THE BEST... THINK OF ALL THE THINGS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO WITH YOUR BOYS AND ENJOY A LONG AND HEALTHY LIFE AHEAD... I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WASNT SCARED AT ALL GOING INTO WLS... I WAS MORE SCARED NOT BEING APPROVED AND GETTING ALL THE STUPID TESTING DONE AND PASS IT. LOL.... I WAS JUST AT THE END OF MY ROPE WITH WEIGHT AND I KNEW IT WAS SLOWLY KILLING ME TILL I WAS READY FOR WHATEVER CAME... SO WE ALL TAKE IT DIFFERENT BUT SURELY HAVENT HEARD ANYONE SAY YET TO ME HOW THEY REGRET IT EITHER.... HANG IN.... JUST A FEW MORE DAYS ... WHAT A RIDE YOU HAVE COMING... BUCKLE UP....HUGS MARGE

Karma....What would life be without it?  250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!

I was frightened, too, the day I got my approval after fighting my HMO for so long.  A day later, I quit being frightened and never looked back, not even on my surgery day.  My surgeon thought I might have to be in ICU because I was on oxygen back then, but my surgery went without a single hitch.
