I'm an Independent so I won't be voting, but I am watching this race very closely. Not gonna say who I am wanting to win but this is the first time in a looonnnnngggg time I have been excited about an election. It has actually made me rethink my 'not affiliated' status, and that's pretty tough to do! Funny, I shoveled too - wasn't it fun? I'm tired of waiting for my complex to clear the walks so I go ahead and do it when I leave to workout - at least I'm working some muscles. And now to the big news........ I finally ran 4 miles!! I got up and was so sore that I didn't think I could do it, but after the first '5 minutes of hell' (it takes that long for me to get in the groove) I was moving pretty good and it wasn't too difficult.  FINALLY!!!!

Well, stupid me, I didn't know until it was too late that Colorado has closed caucuses, so as an unaffiliated person, I won't be able to vote.  My sister is affiliated, so I will observe and drag her to the caucus to vote.  I was afraid I wouldn't be able to attend at all, but I can attend and not vote. I mostly went with "unaffiliated" when I registered because I didn't want to get boatloads of campaign brochures sent to me at election time, not to mention the daily phone calls.  I just might have to change it. Did you get 10 inches of snow on your side of town?  I'm pretty sure this storm hovered over SW Jeffco just to ruin my day.  Since I live with my sister, and it's my sister's house, I'm pretty much the snow shoveling committee.  That's okay, though -- no reason she should have to do it after working hard all day to keep a roof over our heads. Four miles!  Congratulations!  It takes me 10 minutes of intense focusing each day just to keep from hopping off the treadmill.  Once I break the 10 minute mark, I can walk forever.  Those first ten minutes, though, are pure hell.  It's amazing what lame excuses the mind can come up with! Well done!  Will you run five miles tomorrow?  Kix

We got almost 10 inches, it was much more than I thought it would be. Every time I went outside I was shoveling more - it just wouldn't stop. I did ride the lightrail, so my car is in a nice, covered parking garage. It should be all nice and clear for the drive home, What is it with the first few minutes that is so hard? I had practically convinced myself that I didn't need to run during those first 5 minutes, but fortunately I know that I just have to get through that part and I'm fine. I actually time it - at 5 minutes I know I'll be ok! As for the 5 miles, hold your tongue. The thought of 5 miles makes me weak at the knees - my legs are already jelly like as it is! Have fun tonight - hopefully you'll get a little bit of a workout a****er aerobics!

I climbed my big lazy bottom up onto the recumbent bike today and did 30 minutes.  Half of it was with high resistance and half was lower, it alternated every 2.5 minutes.  I rode 7 miles, and I felt good after.  I also went to super target and walked around/shopped for about an hour.  I read the labels on tons of new strange foods - my purchases were a premade salad that looked too good to be true (chicken, walnuts, and goat cheese, raspberry vineagrette. yum), some weird little yogurt shots for probiotics, a pre-made wrap with chicken and spinach and asian veggies in a spinach wrap, and some fiber one bars.  And 2 brownies (for my husband, except one accidentally ended up in my mouth, oops).  I have had a murderous sweet tooth for the past week, and I finally gave in.  *hangs head*  At least I exercised!

We have Super Target here, too, but the food seems more expensive there than our usual grocery store, so I only buy food there when I'm in desperate need of an ingredient for dinner and am too damn lazy to stop at the King Soopers (dumb name for a grocery store, but when I lived in St. Louis, we had Schnuck's, which is even dumber!), I stop at the Super Target near the gym. I don't dare try sugar.  I don't want to find out I can eat it and not dump.  I made that mistake with bread, and now it's a constant struggle to not eat it. Good job on the exercise, and your lazy bottom isn't all that big these days! Kix

I don't regularly shop there either, it is expensive, but not as bad as whole foods.  I do sometimes wander around and see what kind of weird things they have & pick up something different than I can find anywhere else, especially frozen foods.  We used to get their frozen pizzas and it was the only place to get einstein's bagels.  I can't eat either one now, but its still fun to roam.
