Gym is Open (Thursday 1/31)
Yay, January is almost over! We're that much closer to spring. With Saturday being Groundhog Day, I'm going on record right now to say I'm going to kick the #&*$% in the azz if he dares see his shadow.
Why yes, it's snowy and cold in Denver! Why do you ask?
The gym is open. What did you do to move your body today?

I'm going in for my 2 week checkup today and it's a good thing because the stitch holding my drain in is pulling and pinching me bad.... so no walking during the day today, if the doc takes the drain out or fixes that stitch then maybe I'll take the little doggie for a walk this evening...
and kick that groundhog double for me too.... LOL

When I had Blobby removed, I had a heck of a time with my drain. It wasn't enough that I'm a juicy kind of girl and the sucker filled up constantly, I also had to watch it constantly to make sure I wasn't snagging the hose part on anything and tugging that incredibly tight stitch he put in there to hold the drain in. I still have a kind of a pucker on my leg where the drain was placed.
Funny thing, too, when the drain came out, that hose was so danged long I'm pretty sure my tonsils came out with it, too.
How are you healing up? Our dog groomer had a hernia tixed and he had to hire an assistant for one month because the doctor won't let him lift large dogs.

*&%# snow was a major pain this morning - if the dog sees his shadow, I say we take him out together. It will be a pleasure
Notice a bit of anger there? Yup, another sucky day and the weather certainly didn't help. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the damn highway trying to get to school (in a borrowed truck the size of Texas - great for snow, not so great for lots of traffic). Finally got there and the teacher didn't make it, so headed back the other way to pick up my now working car (yeah for it working, not so yeah for the cost) and end up falling on my ass, hard, at the shop. Their floor was painted really nice but is very slick when it's wet, and I bit it good. On top of that I was wearing a short dress and I am sure all the mechanics got a nice flashing - hope they enjoyed it! Now I'm sore all over and have a headache.
I think I have done something to get my karma all out of wack - what can I do to get it back on track??????? because I seriously cannot take much more of these kind of days.
As for my workout, today is my first day of splitting my workout into 2 in one day and adding bike to the mix. I did my 45 minute sprints this morning and plan on doing weights and about 20-30 minutes of bike tonight.

Well, I missed the fun of driving in the snow this morning. Why? Oh, Xcel decided to cut the power in my neighborhood. They do this every once in a while, I think the folks at the power plant have a good laugh when they flip these switches. Anyway, we have an electric garage door opener and I didn't know where (or even if) there is a manual override to open and close in the door without power. So, I was stuck at home for 1.5 hours with no power. Once the power came on, I had to reset all the appliances (we have fancy appliances with computer-like circuitboards that shriek and flash error messages when the power fails), reset all the clocks, and make sure the Tivo reset itself. Ugh.
By the time I left the house, the roads were OK on my side of town. My sister said the roads were terrible downtown, so I'm glad I didn't have to go into town today.
I noticed at Bally's today there were five dead treadmills, up from only one dead treadmill yesterday. I wonder if there was a power surge or something over there and it fried the equipment?
Speaking of Bally's, the handicapped space I parked in today hadn't been plowed, or salted, or sanded, so when I got out of the car, I did a manouver worthy of Cirque du Soleil. The only thing that saved me from a fractured tailbone was grabbing on to the side view mirror on my car. I should have fallen and sued their azzes, but I never prevail in stuff like that. The judge would probably admonish me, saying, "If you're fit enough to work out, you don't belong in a handicapped space. No $$$ for you!"

Your picture is so pretty!
We had a substitute teacher this week in aquacise, and we like her a lot better than the regular teacher. She comes up with such innovative workouts that the time flies by, it's fun, and we get a hearty workout without being overexercised.
I hope the water was warmer today!
