Yep I've had it happen.  Yep I feel hungry, but it took a few months before it happened in my case.  And nope you aren't losing your mind.  Sometimes if your calories are kept really low for a long time your body will really hold on to the weight because it thinks its trying to survive a famine.  Sometimes when you up your calories a little it relaxes and burns.  It seems like everyone has a sweet spot where they lost best, and that sweet spot also changes sometimes.  I am not supposed to go up to 1000 calories until six months out (next week).  Unfortunately I have, frequently, lately- part of that is dealing with hunger coming back, part of that was holiday temptations, and part of that is being able to eat more at a sitting.  Its really only in the last 6 weeks or so that I've had to consciously watch what I eat because before that I was just eating as much as I could manage and 600-800 calories was pretty much all I could fit.  I also notice I am hungrier the week before my period (this week).  It really varies - most of the time I don't feel hungry at all.  Sometimes if I wait a long time between meals I'll be hungry.  Sometimes it turns out I was actually thirsty.  Sometimes its in my head.  But needless to say, you aren't crazy.

Don't feel bad I too sometimes think this is crazy. I will watch everything I eat and will not loose for 2-3 weeks then suddenly loose 9-10 lbs in a couple of days. No wonder I could never stary on a regular diet. Every time I would stall. I would give up and go back to old habits. With RNY thats not an option. Even when I do make a poor choice or try to binge eat my body rejects it.  This is a hard battle. I hope its one we can win!!! Keep going were here for you!!!

I absolutely understand.  The worst stall I have had since surgery was caused by eating too little.  As soon as I upped my calories, the stall broke. I feel hungry but usually just before a scheduled mealtime.  I occasionally feel hungry when I know I should not be physically hungry.  I am beginning to clearly see my pattern of eating when something stressful happens or I'm sad for some reason (or happy).  I now ask myself questions when this happens and try to get to the root of it.  I consider myself a recovering emotional eater.  This pouch is giving me the opportunity to dissect my patterns and learn a better way to deal with emotions.  For one thing, just go ahead and feel them.  Before I would stuff them down by stuffing food down.  Felt good at the time, but was slowly killing me and robbing me of any quality of life. I don't think there are many people who get a BMI of 50+ who don't have a big emotional component to their obesity.   Shirley

I am beginning to think there is no rhyme or reason to when my body sheds it weight or desides to gain a couple (to push me over the edge) or just hang out at one weight. When I eat and think I am really going to be sorry, the scale goes down and vis versa. It is like Jenn and other have said before. You have to trust your body, your surgeon and your self as you follow your program.  And yes, I feel hungry and I will be 6 months out on valentines day!!!
