You don't know how badly I've needed, wanted & waited 4 the approval of my D.B.A. [doing business as] name to go through for my pro-WLS/GBS company & my awareness merchandise. And today I registered the domain name for the website. Too bad I'm not computer tech savvy to do the pages but I know how I want it to look. Luckily I have a dear friend who's gonna help me with the software for that.

I've been in development and creation mode since April 2007, multitasking, choosing a pattern that would best represent OUR community on a national & international level. One that will help garner more respect for us & the necessity of WLS and that it is a vital necessary tool; and encourage all people to educate themselves about WLS before judging our decisions to have it. I hope and believe that you'll like it and U-ur friends and fam will wear it proudly.

This is so important to me. I'm just so tired of us being looked over as well as overlooked in a negative sense & "taking the easy way out". Such playground-like taunting is fueled by the media with all their 'doom & gloom & fear' hype and creates a stigma amongst other ill informed souls that oppose our choice because the idiot box in their living room tells them to. This must end ... or at least be stifled a smidge more.

My original designed pro-WLS wristbands, which is for those of us that are pre & post-op and our allies that stand by us, will help pay for my GBS. It's the only option I have and my goal is to have the procedure during L8 summer. I have not been proud of anything about myself since heaven knows how long. So if you can get ur arms around me a little to give me a hug I'd love it.

Thanks peeps! I have my inventory but when I get the pics/site ready you'll be the first to know. Cheers

Congratulations!  That's very exciting and I agree with you that we are stigmatized no matter what.  Damned if your fat, damned if you do something about it.

Thank you so much, Jennifer! I agree w/ ur comment. It's a bloody shame that it's like that. We're fair game to them, but we can't allow the cretins to keep us down. Take good care and once the site is up, as bare bones as it may appear @ first, I'll also let you know on Myspace too. Okay? Cool.

Toodles,
Jennifer

That's awesome Jennifer!  Feeling pride in ourselves is something we all have lacked in the past. Its a beautiful thing when it develops.  I will be anxious to see your site and wish you well in all your endeavors!   HUGS  Jeanine

Thanks for the hugs and encouragement, Jeanine. It's good to get well wishes from a fellow New Yorker. If it's okay w/ U, I'll send you and 'add friend' request and I'll let you know when my showcase-like website is up. There'll be introductory rates in the beginning. Whoo-hoo! I'm so jazzed I can't stand this. I want to do this for many, many years. I finally feel like for once I have a purpose in life as opposed to always playing the 'foil'.

Cheers Jeanine! And I'll be sure to check out ur profile on OH as well. Have a lovely week ahead.

Hugs,
Jennifer

So happy to read that you're happy for me, joteddie. If it's alright with you, I'll send you an add friend request while I'm stopping by your profile on OH. Once my showcase site is ready I'll give you the heads up, as well as one of my biz emails, in a personal message. I'll drop the 411 on this message board too.

Sweet, ur from Maryland. I grew up in Harford & Cecil counties there and I used to love taking the MARC train to Baltimore & D.C. to spend the entire day in museums. Look after yourself and hope you have an enjoyable week ahead.

Ciao,
Jennifer
