It's OK to be tired and take time off from exercise.  Besides, walking counts, and so does stair climbing. Kix

I tried this, my sister has the DVD.  I tell you, it nealry killed me.  I think the marching in place is too hard on my knees (I guess our carpet isn't padded enough, LOL!) Do you do the entire 2 miles, or are you just starting out? Kix

Hi, Kix.  Glad you were around to open the gym - those doors are heavy, you know...   I'm just doing a single trip to the gym today.  Instead of going to the gym at lunch, I went to Bahama Breeze with one of my friends at work.  We had a lovely lunch and I really enjoyed having time to just sit and chat.  I had a delicious wood-grilled chicken breast with a citrus butter sauce and a double side of broccoli.  Much as I wanted them, I passed on the cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes; would have led to a post-lunch food coma and I didn't want that!   I will go to the gym after work today.  I'm going to do my lower body routine, some core work, and then as much cardio as I have energy/stamina for.  I'm hoping to workout for about an hour and a half, but we'll see what happens.   Good luck to everyone finding the time, energy and motivation to move it today!!! Kellie

Cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes?  Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......... Did it feel odd to actually have lunch instead of exercising? The gym doors aren't all that heavy now that we are all hot and fit! Kix

Yeah for the memory coming through!!! I started the day with my long run, still doing 3.6 at 5 mph. I'm glad to be at a faster speed but I can feel a difference in my body in terms of sore muscles. Not bad sore, but definitely tired sore. I have always had troubles with my gluts but running has really helped in that area. Despite that, they are feeling it right now.  because of that I have added some stretches that hit those areas and that is helping. I'm sore before but feel much better after. After running, I took my car to the shop (yes, I am finally getting it fixed!). I had to get the bus to work and ended up standing in the cold for over an hour waiting for the *&%# bus that was over 30 minutes late! So, count that as exercise for all the shivering I was doing. Then, the bus dropped me off at the wrong stop and I ended up walking 2 miles, along a very busy street with no sidewalk. Between the ice I was trying to walk across and dogging the cars, I think I probably burned 2000 calories Denver and their damn street planning - it is definitely not friendly for people who walk.

I tell you, RTD blows chunks sometimes.  I was over at the Lakewood Library today and the accessible van was parked in the lot waiting for his passenger.  Of course, it was COLD today and who in their right mind would wait outside for their ride?  I went in the library and saw a gnarled elderly woman sitting patiently by the entrance.  It was obvious to me that the driver wasn't coming in to look for her, so I asked her if she was expecting a van ride.  She said yes, so I helped her walk to the van. What I don't understand is why some parts of town have bus shelters, and others don't.  I live within spitting distance of Red Rocks, so you know when it snows we get some pretty healthy accumulation.  NONE of the bus stops out here have shelters, and I feel so sorry for folks having to stand and shiver in the cold without even a semblance of shelter to help buffer the cold.  I'm sorry you had to do all that trecherous walking.  I think you deserve extra credit for calories burned.  And, yes, I'm not sure who planned the streets here.  I still haven't figured out why some areas have sidewalks and others do not.  My sister says it's because all this out here used to be ranches and farms.  It's not now, though -- how damn hard is it to put in sidewalks? Grousing, Kix

Oh, dear!  I'm laughing just reading this!  Good thing he reached you, otherwise, he might have been arrested for working out in his underpants! Kix
