Should I or Not?
A s ya know I'm on a liquid diet an its doing ok. Today is my third day an I'm already sick of the shakes. I wanted to ask that I have Uncle Ben's Hearty Soup (Broccoli Chesse & Rice). Its 100 calories per serving an the serving per container is about 3. Total fat 2 g ,Sodium 650mg, Sugar 2g, Protein 3g. I wanted to eat that tomorrow for dinner. I do a shake for breakfast an one for lunch an an a two shakes for dinner. I dont wanna mess up trying to get down 20 pds by the 20th of feb. I suppose to do an totally of 5 shakes a day but thats to much. I only do three the most. So plz be honest an let me know If thats ok to eat.

Yeah, I would think so. Its going to be really hard to stay all liquids until Feb 20. I don't want to be an enabler or anything, but some variety in your food life (and things that don't taste sweet) will probably help you from falling off course. I totally respect what you are trying to do, I KNOW I couldn't do it. Its all up to you - no one can give you permission or tell you no except yourself - but there are many many many worse dinner choices than some soup.
All the best,
Jenn
This is only my opinion.....When I did the 6 weeks of Medifast prior to my surgery....mentally I was not able to handle only drinking my nutrition. I freaked out when they told me all shakes for 6 weeks because I recalled a time when I tried Medifast as a weight loss attempt several years ago. I still had to prepare food for my family and I would take my shake into another room, close the door and sob because I desperately wanted to chew something and feel part of the family. I could not handle watching others eat while I drank only. So, my nutritionist advised me to eat lean & green (3 oz of lean meat & vegetables (non starchy) for a dinner. I was much happier and calm with this plan. I did have some light headed feelings early n for which she recommended warm broth in between meals. So it went well. However, I firmly believe that the Medifast helped me kick my carb addiction and prepared me better for surgery. You would do better to have some chicken or fish and a few vegetables than high sodium soups with rice. Again...this is only my opinion. I wish you well. Jeanine
Thanks alot. Everyone tell me about medifast but when I ask where to get it they say from my doc. So thats me out of doing that. I'm not going to eat it, I change my mind. I have a post-op coach thats going to do her best to help me lose the weight. We talk for a while last nite an we have a game plan on wat food should help me to lose. So will let you know wat happen after the 20th.

Lean meat and veggies was also what I suggested for dinner to you the other day. I did 2-3 shakes per day plus 3ozlean meat and 3-6oz veggies (no sauce or salt or anything) in the evening and I lose quite a bit of weight, especially in the first few weeks. I think it was 22 lbs in a month or something like that.
I had to lose weight pre-op and I did what you are doing. I couldn't do the protein shakes(still can't)but I did liquids all day and then had a sensible dinner which would consist of a small piece of grill chicken, fish, or beef with steamed veggies. No rice, bread, potatoes. My liquids would be SF jello, SF popsicles, tons and tons of water(back then I was using crystal light in my water, I drink plain water now)broth(watch out for the sodium)apple juice, cranberry juice(my pouch doesn't like juice)
It was hard the first couple of days. The real food at the end of the day helped. It gave me something to look forward to. I only did it for 1 week and I did lose quite a bit of weight.
Good luck on your journey. Please come back to this forum often. These are some great people
