My BMI is in the 70s I started at 477 and Iam now 446 Iam wating for surgery . I live in Canada I hope to have it in the summer.  I was wondering if someone could send me photos of befor and after as well as reconstructive surgerys. I have come across some photos of a panni and it scared the #$@^&% out of me it looked like someone scooped out her lower tummy and left her top part area alone , Will my private area ever look normalish. I dont post often but I surf  often. and I just discoverd this one a little while ago and everyone sounds like very supportive  caring people Thank you kitty

Hi Kitty, Welcome!  I think that I've seen the panni photo that you are talking about.  It is pretty strange looking.  I think it is because the lady has other problems as well, and if I remember correctly, she had not lost that much weight, but had a huge pannus that limited her ablity to walk.  I will be learning more, as I have an appointment with plastics coming up.  I first have to attend a class on panni removal, and that is next week. Currently, my abdominal skin looks "interesting", like a large ball of bread dough.  It is soft and "spongy", saggy and such, but it isn't really and truly horrible.  It bothers me - and I get skin rashes under my breasts, because I have a large amount of excess skin above my bellybutton as well, and my breasts have "grown".  While they are still a DDD cup, they are now "longs".  I am so thankful and blessed by an awesome husband who has NEVER complained about how my body looks - he just compliments instead.  He is a gem. Look at some profiles on the plastics board, and get an idea of how people looked before and after.  They post those all the time!  That will help encourage you instead of scare you like the other photo. Also, welcome to BMI over 50!
