I joined Curves for Women and went tonite for my orientation to the machines and process. Good God Gerty...I am so sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL  You don't realize  until you move your body with twists and turns that are foreign to a former "couch potato"..just HOW BADLY you are out of shape!!!  Plus I'm do darn short, several times, I could barely reach the overhead bars where you do stretching. I felt like a big ole puffalump!  But you know what...give me 2 weeks of going there 3 X's a week and I'll be sailing thru the workout!  LOL  But for now....just gimme the heating pad!    HUGS to all...Jeanine

My friend who goes to curves warned me that I might be too short for some of the machines.  I was thinking about joining but there is also a gym deal with Ryan's new job (Bally's) and depending on the price I might prefer that.

Sounds good...as long as you get moving..I have been told so often how important it is.  So I will go with the old statement "no Pain...no Gain! "  LOL   HUGS  Jeanine

Well, I have bassett hound legs and T-rex arms, so I'm glad the strength training machines have adjustable settings.  The only one I really have trouble with is the overhead bar thing that you pull down.  Even so, I just set the weight before I sit down, then grab the bar, then sit down. All my height is in my torso.  How much fun is that?! Well done on the workout, Jeanine!  Pretty soon, you'll be so fit that Curves won't be challenging any more. Kix

Oh, honey, we all start somewhere.  You're right that in 2 weeks, you won't have much muscle soreness and you'll already start to notice some improvement in how you feel!  For now, enjoy your heating pad and, if the soreness persists, try some Tylenol.  Also, remember to stretch after your next workout - that often helps me prevent residual muscle soreness when I'm doing a new routine.   Let us know how your next visit goes!!! Part of the regimen is post exercise stretching so I've got that covered.  I have these awesome bars in my cupboard that elminate muscle soreness with exercise and help burn fat better.  I need to read the nutritional info to see if I could eat maybe a 1/2 of one before my work outs. They really do work.  Next visit...??? You mean I HAVE TO go back?    LOL J/K   I'm going back tomorrow.  HUGS  Jeanine

Well I have to say your right you are SHORT! lol just kidding!  I'm so glad We got to meet and Sal is great too, what an awsome support person you have!  Thanks a bunch for the cloths yesterday I wore that purple shirt with lace around the neck and  today i'm wearing the blue one.  Too bad we don't live closer we could go to the gym together,  I was talking to a friend of mine that is having the surgery in Albany and she goes to the support groups in saratoga they have them the first Monday of the month I may give that a try. I think I may like the support groups. The one we went to was more based on the older ones but I think it really brought me to reality. Thanks again for going with me and Thanks for the cloths!  Estelle

Good for you!!! I joined curves last week, haven't made around twice yet, but everyday I try to add another station.  The ladies that work there are really nice and they take my oxygen tank to each station for me, so that I can keep up.  so I can do, you can too.  Good luck and keep on going!!
