It's Friday, and a long weekend for most folks.  My neighbors had the nerve to go to San Diego this weekend, so I'm dog sitting their cattle dog.  She's a good dog, but a bit hyper, and she manages to terrorize our doxie by doing nothing more than looking at him.  He's such a *****! I must do more time on the killer treadmill today!  I talked myself out of my full exercise time yesterday, and I don't want to get into that habit. What will you do to move your body today? Good Morning my friend~! I'm up and moving this morning, but my hall is just tooo short to do laps that will count for much... I may have to do circles around the coffee table in the living room.... I have a treadmill at home and I'm sorely tempted to get on it, but I think the hubby would kill me.... LOL Hugs,

Sounds like the doxie needs to man up, so to speak!!!   How was your time on the treadmill???  What other cardio have you been doing?  How was your session with the personal trainer?  A (nosey) girl wants to know these things!!!! As for me, I lifted weights for upper body at lunch and did some core work.  I need to ask one of the fitness specialists if I'm doing the ball crunches right - don't think I have myself positioned quite right on the ball and am not really feeling this too much in my abs.  I'm able to do four "planks" for 30 seconds now, which is big improvement over my first attempt (one time for 10 seconds and I was done for!!!!).   I am not doing a second workout today - my department's "year end event" is tonight at a local restaurant.  In the past we've done a nice dinner w/ a DJ at some pretty snazzy places (last year we rented a room at The House of Blues).  Some folks complained about the cost because the budget isn't enough to cover all the costs for that type of event.  So this year we're doing a scaled-back event -- more like a high-end happy hour with appetizers, a couple drink tickets, and some prizes.  I'm just hoping that not all the appetizers are deep-fried!!!  Will see if we get better turnout and what the feedback is like after the event.  You can never please everyone... So instead of going back to the gym, I'm going to drink and eat stuff I normally don't - hopefully it won't all show up on the scale tomorrow morning!!! Kellie

I guess it's our fault he can't "man up" since he was snipped when he was adopted.  He's getting better around the cattle dog, but she has a haroo-ing bark that she does when she wants to talk and it sends shivers down his little doxie back! My session with the personal trainer went well.  He recommended I work on the stability ball to strengthen my quads, and he taught me the proper way to do my reps, which helped me a lot.  He was impressed that I could lift between 40-60 lbs and also said I'm more flexible than he expected.  What I don't like about Bally's is that every "free" service comes with a sales pitch at the end.  I'd love to sign up for more personal training sessions, as soon as I win the Powerball. The ab machines at Bally's are more intense than the one at the rec center.  My abs really feel like they are getting a workout.  I also like the hip adductor, which he recommended I use to strengthen the inner thigh muscles.  And, as I mentioned before, the treadmills are certainly more high tech in terms of the workouts than the rec center offers. I haven't done any other cardio, I'm using the treadmill exclusively for now.  I'm not a fan of the elliptical.  I tried the stair climber and couldn't figure out why it wasn't climbing, so I'll give it another shot later. Your party sounds like great fun!  Be sure to tell us all about it. Kix

I've taken one 20min walk today, and I'm aiming for 2 more.  Otherwise my butt will grow in to this office chair.

It might be interesting, having an office chair grow onto your butt.  You could appear on "Maury" or another one of those odd daytime talk shows! Good job walking today.  Are you feeling any better yet? Kix

I did my longer run today, 3.3 miles at 5mph. that's it, nothing too exciting. I'm planning on snowshoeing all day tomorrow and Monday, so I'll get lots of exercise in this weekend . just a suggestion... if you want to have a nice looking butt, start snowshoeing. After last weeks outing, every muscle in my butt were screaming at me - and here I thought I was in good shape. I figure if I go every weekend I'll have a very toned bottom, at least under all the wrinkly skin. Have fun with those dogs this weekend - hopefully you don't have to take them out for a walk. It is bitterly cold out there!

My ecology teacher spent the holidays at his cabin in CO and he mentioned that snow shoeing was a lot harder for him this year because the snow was so deep lifting your legs to take the next step was tough.  I'd look at his butt, but he's like 64, and I think I wouldn't feel good about myself in the morning.

Too funny. I don't think I'll care for 64 year old butt until I'm at least 60.

The computer system I've been working so hard on has a front-end (customer interface) and back-end (staff interface). A young male co-worker is building the back-end.

One time in an e-mail I inadvertently referred to "Brett's back-end" and have taken quite a bit of teasing for it. And yes, he is in a mountain bike racing team, so he DOES have a nice back-end. LOL!
