I didn't, but I don't think its a bad idea for a lot of people in general, and I have thought about going to therapy since surgery. There is nothing wrong with taking all the help you can get physically and emotionally as you prepare yourself for surgery.
Best Wishes!
The option was made available to me at ANY time during my journey, so if I feel I need it, I won't hesitate to go. Take advantage of the service...it can't hurt and will most likely help you. There are many emotions involved in this huge transformation. Its no sin to need to talk it through. Good Luck! Jeanine
No I only went once but if you ask the people who know me they will tell ya I probably should have, lol
honestly I am a big fan of support and thats really what therapy is just an outlet and a way to understand yourself and get support on a huge decision you are about to make,
Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

I did not, but I know several people that did. They just want to make sure you're fully prepared for the changes that will be required to be successful with WLS. Many people have pretty significant psychological issues related to food, and you have a much better chance at being successful if you finally address those issues. It may take a little longer to get approved, but it will be worth the additional effort -
Good luck on your continuing journey -

My hospital required that we had at least 3 sessions, and a formal written evaluation. I decided to continue on with the therapist... but am going to switch soon, because I've come to think she's unaffective...and if I'm paying for it, it better be worth it!!! So -- different hospitals, different requirements, I guess. Good luck!!
