I'm waiting for the letter and the check from my father in law, I have the number for cobra though and got the letter from his company yesterday - it will be $755 for both of us (and we can't do just me) each month.
I did call my surgeon this morning but he wasn't very helpful when I finally got to talk to him. Since I'm not in pain it could be a number of things. The first time I had this problem it ended with a whole bunch of gas. This time I was constipated and ended up using the bathroom 5 times that day, but no gas. He said if I feel any severe pain to go straight to the ER, but otherwise he'd want to do an MRI (I don't even know if I'll fit!) and that it could probably wait a wee****il my insurance straightened out (barring any emergency of course). He said to take it seriously if I continued to have any pain or began to vomit or became bloated, but not to worry too much because it could just be that I am sensitive to my system being full of gas or poo. He also agreed that I can try an acid reducer for a few weeks (prilosec) and see if that helps. If it continues to be a problem we will do an MRI and/or a scope. Overall he didn't sound too worried.
Dunny, I'm a bit confused about your insurance situation. Usually you don't lose your insurance until the end of the month in which the employee quits/terminates, etc. I've never heard of someone losing their health insurance the second they leave or are terminated from their job. Why isn't your insurance good through the end of the month? When I did COBRA, mine started on the first day after the end of the last month I was covered as an employee (of course, I was a federal employee, so perhaps this is different from the private sector).
Walking is good, and drinking hot liquids will help relax your digestive system. It's always good to listen to what your body is telling you, and not pu**** too hard.
Sorry for all the nosy questions! Tell me to MYOB if you want, I won't take it personally. Well, yes I will, but I won't be offended!

They, and the insurance company, agree that insurance ended at midnight of the day he was terminated - and it also was mentioned in his "termination letter" that we received yesterday. I hadn't heard of that either, but my boss said one of her previous jobs had the same policy. I think its total BS because we paid our portion of the premium for this month already. As for COBRA, I am completely confused on that because the insurance company has 30 days to send you a letter, and you have another 15 days to make a decision to buy it, but in the meantime what if something happens? Are you covered retro-actively to the date you were fired? I am not finding answers that make sense, and I need to call the UHC number for COBRA, but now I'm waiting to see if the other insurance from UniCare that I applied for today will be approved because I'd rather pay a lot less if possible. Its all completely confusing, annoying, irritating, frustrating, idiotic, moronic... I could go on for a while.
Hey Kix
you could be my Sis any day!!
Today I went to the gym and the 2 elliptical machines I like were being used so I got on the one I didn't like and could only do 12 mins, Then I got on a tredmill for 20 mins and walked 1.3 miles I even ran on and off a little (bouncy situation) lol and then I did the rower for 100 reps. I talked to a girl who did 20 mins on that rower (i would be dead) but she said she just started counting too and soon started timing it, Sat I work with the trainer at the gyn who is going to do a walk through with all the machines, He is the owner and seems like he really just wants everyone to succeed which I find refreshing.

Estelle, if the weather is warmer in upstate NY than it is here in CO, I just might take you up on that offer. Of course, I'd have to bring PJ, I can't just leave her here to freeze.
What speed do you use on the treadmill? It sounds faster than what I do (anywhere from 2.0 to 2.3)
I would never try to hop on and off, I'm sure I'd trip and maim myself, and that's all I'd need is to be hauled out of the gym on a gurney.
I enjoyed my work with the trainer, but I didn't like them trying to sell me more training sessions at the end. If I could afford it, I'd have more sessions.
Keep up the good work,
Kix

Hey Kix,
Its not warmer here and the snow is crazy this year! let me just say that I pay $20.00 a storm for plowing myu drive way (i know thats cheap) lol and in december alone my bill $140.00 7 storms in december. last year I didnt pay 140 for the whole year!
as far as my tredmill speed i think dont quote me because it was my first time on but i think i started at 1.7 and went up and down from 2.9 to 3.7 I will do it again the same and check the #s better though. and I wonder if diff tredmills have diff speed settings?
i'll ask the trainer muscle guy tomorrow. :)
Thanks!
Estelle
I'm telling you, this arctic cold sucks all the brains right out of my head. I sort of stagger around like a zombie, but I have no urge to eat human brains, so I guess I'm not really a zombie after all.
They should let me be the weather person on TV today. When the news anchor asks the inane question, "What's the weather like today?" I'd yell. 'COLD! F@*$%G COLD!"
I went to Ballys and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't force myself to do more than 30 minutes of killer treadmill. My empty brain wouldn't allow it, even with all the new tunes on the IPod (if "Born on the Bayou" by Creedence Clearwater Revival can't get me motivated, I have no pulse). I did strength training today, and managed to lose my outdoor gloves somewhere in the gym. Of course, no one turned them in.
I went to Wally's to buy new gloves. No gloves. All the summer clothes are out now. Just what we need here in CO when it's 1 degree outside, tank tops! After I gave some hapless employee major *****face about summer clothes being sold in the dead of winter, she rummaged through some cart in the back and found one set of two pairs of those "one size fits all" knit gloves and only charged me $1.00 for the set. Worked for me.
My sister and I went to aquacise. I didn't want to, but I did enjoy parts of it, mostly the extra work on my quads. The best part was standing in the hot shower for ten minutes after class!
