Well I am just opening this up in case I forget to later.  I have had a busy day so far and its only going to get worse.  The good news is that my husband had his second interview for a new job this morning (which we pretty much knew he was a shoe-in for) and he starts tomorrow night.  The bad news is he works nights for at least 3 months (4-midnight) so add school and sharing a car - we are going to be sleepy people who only ever see each other in the car and on Sundays.  Also, at first, the pay is significantly less, but after 3 months it will be equal to or likely higher than what he was making before.  This is actually the company he worked for previous to his most recent job, and I knew financially we were in much better shape before he changed jobs.  Their insurance is $75 cheaper a month, and his take home pay was 200-300 more per month before.  So I am not unhappy about the job change, except for COBRA.

The good thing about never seeing each other is you won't fight! That's what my girlfriend always said when she and her hubby had opposite shifts. It made their together time even better. Pre B - SF NF Soy Carmel/chocolate latte B - 2 small Chinese steamed buns (mushroom and bamboo) S - Greek yogurt with blue and black berries added in L - homemade edemame/turkey meatball/veggie soup and 2 more of those terrible Chinese steamed buns (spinach). Oh why do they go down so well when no other bread will? S - ?? not sure if I'll have one D - burrito fixins -  mixed together leftover steak, tomato's, black beans, cheese but minus tortilla for me S - STARBUCKS skinny something or other!!! It's support group night and we meet there. V - done W - 3/4 E - done

Hi, Jen.  Glad your husband found work so quickly - bummer about the schedule, but better than being unemployed.  Here's what I've eaten today: B - 1 cup 1% milk in coffee, 1 packet Quaker weight control oatmeal S #1 - 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. sugar-free preserves S #2 - medium banana, Yoplait light yogurt [workout #1 - lower body strength training ~ 1 hour] L - Lean Cuisine thai-style chicken, 1 c. steamed broccoli S #3 - venti non-fat latte w/ sugar-free vanilla syrup [plan for rest of day] S #4 - 1 slice whole-wheat bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese [workout #2 - 40-50 minutes of cardio] D - 1 1/2 cups homemade beef stew, 1 dinner roll, maybe a salad w/ low-fat dressing S #5 - Starbucks mocha bar or 1 Godiva truffle (but not both!); I try to leave myself ~100-120 calories at the end of the day for a treat - helps me say "no" to the crap that's around my office all the time! B - Proto Whey power crunch bar S - small amount (I'd say about an ounce) of chicken fajita meat, with a teaspoon of queso L - the chicken and spinach filling of 2 canneloni from zios, plus a house salad (and I ate the croutons yum) S - Keebler cheese dip with pretzel sticks D - Trail mix with walnuts, dates, and cranberries, 2 oz leftover steak Calories (major estimate liberties taken) - 972 Fat 38g Carbs 63g Fiber 7g (this is NOT good and includes a fiber supplement) Sugar 16g Protein 79g Exercise - 30 minutes walking, stairs at work Water - lots and lots and working on more (please stall, go away) Vitamins - all done It was interesting today, I met up with a bunch of faculty and students who hadn't seen me since Sept - only the people who knew that I'd had surgery complemented me on my weight - but EVERYBODY looked at me funny at one point or another this afternoon It was also the first time I saw my supervisor since the beginning of Dec and she couldn't stop talking about how much thinner I was - I must have lost some serious inches cause I've barely lost ANY weight since the last time I saw her.  Also, my size 32 jeans nearly fell down today - I think I have to retire them soon, as well as a pair of size 32 capris that now look like high water pants and hang off me (and I couldn't zip them without laying down last April).  Finally inches are falling off!  Yay!

That is a rough schedule, but thank goodness he has a job. When is the boy going to study?? I did pretty good today although I've got serious munchies with my period. I have been starving all day though! Luckily I don't have much food in my house or at work, so I wasn't tempted.  breakfast: peanut butter pudding snack: 2 atkins protein bars, 1/2 banana (I was starving!) lunch: WW garlic chicken and squash dinner snack: raisins, fat-free yogurt, handful of almonds, 6 tootsie rolls dinner: 4 ounces of a pork chop,  broccoli with some cheese snack: 3 granola bites calories: 2197 fat: 92 carbs: 243 fiber: 35 protein: 119 water: about 96 ounces No exercise today, Monday is my day off. But I start back nice and early tomorrow morning with a long run. It makes me tired just thinking about it. Tomorrow is jury duty so I'm trying to plan my day now - luckily I have no money at all, so I won't be buying anything I don't need!

That's a good question - I don't know when he's going to study.  He probably won't, and then I'll probably harp on him, and then we'll probably fight about it.  Ideally, he would study in the mornings before he goes to work at 4 - on the days he doesn't have school.

B: 2 EAS protein drinks @ 220 calories, 34g protein     1 Instone pudding @ 100 calories, 20 g protein E: killer treadmill x 45 minutes at slightly faster speed = 360 calories expended L:  MetRx chocolate protein drink chugged enroute to personal trainer appt @ 250 cal, 51g protein E: personal trainer appt, lots of hard work, not sure about calories expended maybe 100 S: 1 Atkins protein bar @ 150 calories, 11g protein D: Roasted turkey thigh 4 oz @ 190 calories, 21g protein     1 ice cream scoop turkey stuffing (currently killing me) @ 200 calories, unk protein S: 1 oz leftover roasted turkey @ 50 calories, 7g protein Totals for today:  1260 calories eaten - 460 calories expended = 800 calories                                approx 144 g protein I was proud of myself for walking past the fresh bread/rolls section at the market today, although I did fondle a couple of the tastier looking ones (using a bakery tissue so I didn't leave fingerprints!) I didn't enjoy the stuffing like I thought I would, it sat hard, and I didn't finish the full serving.  I don't know if it was the onion or if it was overly sage-d, but I don't think I'll do that again any time soon. You are not the first person I've read who had problems with stuffing - there were a lot of complaints on the boards around the holidays about it.  You did good on eating and protein though!  (And congratulations on the -10lbs, wow!)
