High protein (at least 60g/day from lean meat, non-fat milk, protein drinks, etc.) and as low carb and calorie as possible is what I would suggest.  There are a number of free websites if you want to track your daily intake - I use thedailyplate.com but there is also sparkpeople.com and fitday.com. I lost about 40lbs pre-op drinking two-three protein shakes each day along with 3oz lean meat with as much (unbuttered/undressed) veggies as I wanted for dinner.  I'm sure your nutritionist will have some suggestions for you. All the best, Jenn

I did almost the same Diet as Dunny and lost 44 lbs in 3.5 months and probably would have lost more if I didn't cheat at all.  Good Luck and Congrats on your journey~ Medifast is what I used 4 shakes a day and 3 oz of meat and up to 5 servings of green veggies with my meat. Estelle

Baby food?  Good grief! What I'd do is either go on a liquid diet like Optifast, or just eat around 1100 calories per day, making each meal high in protein.  Meats, eggs, etc.  Tell the nutritionist you'd like to start on a post-op eating plan now so you can be ready once you have surgery. Water pills aren't going to give you real weight loss.  Are you retaining tons of water for some reason? Use the treadmill at a very slow speed to start, and build up gradually.  Any exercise at all is better than none, and it will help strengthen your lungs for surgery. Good luck! Kix
