PAT FOR PANNI AND HERNIA
Hi My Weight Loss Buddies:
I haven't posted for awhile, even though I have been checking in occassionally. Tommorrow I go for my pre admission tests for my hernia and panni surgery. I have to see the PS at 7 am then shoot over to the hospital, thank you to my sister who will drive me as I still can't walk long distances. Once all the tests are done I have go across the street and see the GBS who will be perfoming the hernia surgery. I think by noon I will be exhausted but I want to maximize my day off and shoot over to NJ to a Target (get gasoline which is cheaper) and then a $'$$$$ store while I am there.
Please include me in your prayers that all my tests are OK and that I can move on with my journey.
Be talking to you all soon.
Jeanne
Jeanne, I remember going to NJ for all sorts of shopping when I lived in Philly. All those little extra taxes add up! Besides, isn't NJ one of those states that doesn't permit self-serve gas, so there are actually people who pump it for you almost like in the olden days?
Now that the statute of limitations is up, I can confess that I lied at Strawbridge and Clothier when they asked me if I lived in Philly. I hadn't changed my driver's license yet, so I said no and didn't have to pay the sales tax on the clothing I bought. (hangs head in shame).
It still chaps me that the City of Philly took an extra hunk out of my paycheck just for the pleasure of working at Health Center 1 on Broad Street.
At least Philly was upfront about it -- I worked in St. Louis for over a year before they decided to tell me that I owed 1% of my annual salary for city tax (and hadn't taken it out, so I had to cough up the full amount at tax time).
Good luck with all your testing tomorrow. Which hospital are you using for your surgery?
Kix

Hi Kix,
You are entirely safe, Strawbridges is no more. As a matter of fact one of the realtives is doing time for something. City tax is a drain. I also work on Broad Street, I am on the North side of City Hall. Yes. besides being way cheaper for gas I don't have to pump it.
I am having my surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital which is now part of the U of P system.
Thanks for your good wishes.
Jeanne
