It's Friday already!  Aren't these short weeks great?!  I'm especially glad because it means Denver area children go back to school on Monday, which means all their parents who are off this week and hogging all the machines at the rec center will also go back to work.  Woohoo!  I will go to the rec center and also try to do a walk at the mall.  I'll post my actual activity later. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

Karen, you had this hernia/TT planned and are just telling us now?  Hmph! Seriously, congrats on the TT, and sorry about the hernia (but it might be a blessing since you get the TT, too). Kix

Sorry Kix, but I just found out on the 20th that I would have to get the hernia fixed in January and since he's gonna have me down and out for that I decided to go ahead with the TT too......

Yeah Friday!!! I'm ready to head to the mountains to do some snowshoeing and get away from the craziness of Denver. I had my long run today - 3 miles. I got there a little late this morning and my usual treadmill was taken, so I had to use one of the older ones. It was much tougher on the legs, a little bit of a harder surface and I felt it every step. However, I think I might keep using it since it mimics the outdoors more than my cushy treadmill. It took me 38 minutes, which is about my current pace. When I was in San Antonio I was running much faster - the altitude made all the difference and I felt so good. Now that I am back I'm having to get acclimated again. It's amazing what can happen in a week! I can't wait to see my pace improve - the interval training I am doing every other day is suppose to help with speed - we'll see if that happens. that's it for me - I have a sore throat and I am worried I might be coming down with something. I'm going to try to take it easy tonight and get some good sleep. have fun with your workout!

Oh no, don't even worry about that - I credit it more with my aunt's house being 100 degrees inside and going from hot to cold over and over again. Mom and I both have felt the affects of staying in the sweat house! How is your guys colds? Better?

They are almost better - Ryan is hardly coughing unless I start him up from coughing myself.  I cough a lot in bed but during the day I am mostly ok.  I feel fine, its just the cough that won't go away.

Isn't it funny how we have our "usual" machines?  My preferred in-line skating machine is at the rec center that has been overrun with folks lately, so I've been using the ones at the other rec centers.  At the rec center I went to today, their in-line skating machine was so stiff I felt like I was dragging a plow through a field of hard clay. You ran 3 miles today and yet you make it sound as though you were lazy and did nothing! Enjoy the snowshoeing!  I haven't snowshoed since I was a teen living in Utah (and in the olden days when those snowshoes were eighty feet long with the pointy ends that snag on everything).  I think I could do it now that snowshoes are sleek and modern (and short, for those of us with basset hound legs). Morning Kix, I'm on my way to the YMCA to teach Aquafit this morning.  It is cold and rainy here, so I hope that I can keep warm.  We will have to work extra hard to keep warm!  I have tons of errands to run today, so I don't know if I will get in any other workouts.
