Hiya, Marge.  Here's my numbers for the week:

Beginning weight - 396
Surgery weight - 386
Last Monday - 190.9
Today  - 194.1

Was at 189.8 yesterday, so know I'm holding on to some serious fluids today!  I had more sodium at dinner last night than usual, so suspect that's partially responsible for why I feel like a fully soaked sponge today!  I've enjoyed the holidays, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my regular routine -

I hear ya on the changes this year - I don't remember a year like this, ever. And while not all the changes have been positive, I can say that this has been one of the best years ever. Kind of weird to say that, but it's true. In the past my moods and attitude were dictated by what happened to me - now they are dictated not by events but my own internal peace. Quite the difference and this year was my first real test on how I deal with stuff. Now on to not so pleasant stuff - I went out of control with my eating this week and it showed BIG TIME on the scale. My aunt had candy everywhere and I would grab a little here, grab a little there and it ended up being a whole bunch in the end! Yikes, what a wake up call - it was a good reminder of how food is still, and will always be, a challenge. Surgery weight: 371 last week's weight: 174 this week's weight: 181!!! I was so upset yesterday with the 7 pounds that I started spiraling down into my old self-destructive habits and honestly felt like crap. Today I'm just pissed off, which is good - it gets me motivated. I did not come this far to gain my weight back and feel like crap! I can feel it too - my clothes are tight and running today I felt like I was carrying an extra body! And I just feel uncomfortable. So, I have a plan that I am working to implement - I just want to feel better! (I have to wonder how in the world I carried 200 extra pounds for that long! This extra 10 pounds is just miserable!) I'm posting my plan here for accountability - in the past I would of tried to hide if I felt like a failure but not this time - I know that if I share my issues it makes such a difference in how I deal with it. So, here is what I am doing: This week: Doing a bit of detox. The only carbs I am allowing is veggies, fruit and granola and knocking my calories down to 1500 a day. I'm trying to get that sugar out of my system so NO sugar or simple carbs - I'm hoping my hypoglycemia cooperates! I'm keeping with my exercise program since that has worked well, but I am going to add some cardio on the days I don't have school - I figure I will take advantage of this break. After this week: keep my calories to 1800 a day and only simple carbs as a treat 3 times a week. Otherwise add more complex carbs like whole wheat bread, etc. I'm hoping this will get me back down to 170 and then I'm going to try to slowly lose 10 more by summer. Now, everyone do what Marge said and checkin! No matter how bad or good you did, get in here and tell us about it. This is the best place to get the support you need!! Here's to a new year

Kudos to you for the attitude changes. You will be fine...you are on the right track. I think we all over indulged these past 2 weeks and will pay the price one way or another.  You have the courage it takes to be in control of your situation and not let it control you. We could all learn from that!!  HUGS   Jeanine
