HOLIDAY GREETINGS
Thank you! We celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas at our house (our family considers Christmas a winter festive event rather than the birth of Christ). Since we observe both, we don't exchange gifts at Hanukkah.
Our sister in Kingman does not observe Christmas, only Hanukkah. The way she observes Hanukkah makes my skin crawl -- they don't even light the menorah until 9 PM because she likes to get all her daily chores done first.
Of course, this is the same sister who gives her kid gifts at Passover. I'm pretty sure that Elijah didn't show up at Seder bearing a bag of gifts like Santa does at Christmas, but what do I know?
