I spent all of last week trying to recover from my cold.  I still have residual coughing, but I'm on the mend. Of course, a week of no exercising and eating mostly soups with salt has results in a nasty gain.  I am deeply unhappy about it, but I'll follow Kellie's fine example and just focus on getting back on track.  I particularly missed not exercising, I feel all logey and bloated from the lack of activity.  Not only that, staying in bed and resting gave me a lower backache which is finally starting to abate.  I'm just a mess this week, I guess! Beginning weight: 530 lb Surgery weight: 407 lb Last week: 217 lb This week: 223 lb  Kix

Hi, Kix.  Glad to hear you are on the mend.  Don't worry about the regain; it'll drop back off pretty quickly after you get back to your normal routine.  Just focus on continuing to feel better, keep drinking lots of fluids (that'll help flush out the fluid you're retaining from being oversalted), and ease back into exercise as it feels comfortable to do so.  I bet you'll be down 2-3 pounds before you know it! {{{{{hugs}}}}} Kellie

AWWW KIX,        IM GLAD YOU ARE FEELING SOMEWHAT BETTER. I KNOW WHEN YOU GET IT BAD LIKE YOU HAD IT TAKES A TOLL ON THE BODY AND A WHILE TO BOUNCE BACK.... JUST TAKE IT EASY... YOU WOULDNT THINK SOMETHING AS SMALL AND INNOCENT AS SALT COULD BE SUCH A CULPRIT UGH... BUT LIKE YOU SAID... YOU KNOW HOW TO JUMP AND KICK BACK.. THATS WHAT MATTERS... FEEL BETTER MY BUD... Sorry to hear about your cold...but glad to hear you are better.  You hit on something that has me thinking now.  I have been having like 1/3 cup of tomato soup and vegetable beef (minus the beef chunks)...could salt be the culprit in my meager weight loss so early in the game??? It seems that everything I eat has it...like the cottage cheese and the tuna...its everywhere. I can eat so few things right now not even a month post op...if I eliminate much more I'll be eating the same damn thing every meal UGH!  I'm just not sure what the heck I'm doing wrong!  Sometimes I worry maybe the surgery didn't work or that my body is somehow resistant.???? I'm just feeling desperate and imaging the worst probably!  LOL   Hugs....JEanine

Girl, it's okay to let those boogers go to someone else now. Didn't your Momma teach you to share? I agree that you will drop those extra pounds really quick. They aren't really pounds anyway, just those ugly mucus guys hanging around. You know how fat they are!!! Drink a ton of water and you'll pee them all out -Julie
Practice safe eating - always use condiments.
