In the interest of livening up the board and enforcing holiday spirit on everyone else like I am doing to myself, what are you asking Santa for this year?
We've been bad and spoiled ourselves, but sometimes you've just gotta do that I think..
or if you don't know, or don't want to share this year's yearnings - what was your best Christmas moment, present, story etc.?
I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!
Oh and on a side note - I finally went down in pants sizes yay! I squeezed into some 26/28 jeans yesterday! Woohoo!

To be honest I really don't want a thing this year. Its been an awesome year and it seems that Santa brought me goodies all year long between the weight loss and life just being plain awesome. I did whisper though that I would love to have a small, plain pair of pearl earrings. But other then that I really don't want much. OK so seeing 180 something before the new year gets here would be awesome but lol I am not picky =0) This year was the first year we went to the local Christmas Parade. I could STAND the whole time and we had a blast!! We are also going to the Christmas Stroll this next Friday for the first time and I have NO doubt at all that I will have a wonderful time. I CANT WAIT!! Like I said. There really isn't anything Santa could bring that could top how life is going right now =0)
Best wishes and Happy holidays!!

Felicia - Wow, Congratulations on having such happiness and life being just plain awesome! You can't ask for anything better than that! But pearl earrings are a nice bonus
Its awesome to see how much you've changed, and how little things like standing through a parade can mean so much when you couldn't do them before. Thank you so much for responding! You're an inspiration.

My "yearnings" are pretty simple this year, and mostly relate to clothes that fit and that are warm since I'm perpetually cold! Not asking for anything big or expensive - honestly, I'm lucky that if there's something I really want, I can go buy it. And for the most part I have simple needs.
My favorite holiday activity is coordinating an adopt-a-family thing through our local Salvation Army. I'm the organizer for my group at work and we "adopt" a family and buy gifts for them. This year we "adopted" a single mom with five kids, and my co-workers and I truly enjoy being able to buy and wrap gifts anonymously. It feels great to know that we'll this family's Christmas a little brighter, and one mom's life a little easier.
I also really look forward to spending time with family and friends. Everyone's having money issues this year, so we're spending a lot less money on presents, and focusing more on just enjoying each other's company. Honestly, I feel less stressed about Christmas than I have in years. It's truly a blessing -
I look forward to reading everyone else's wish list, Christmas stories, etc. -

Kellie- I'm already perpetually cold and I want a new coat but I know it'll be huge by next winter so I'm making due with my jacket and lots of layers. Its not like it gets cold here but you wouldn't know that from the way I've been dressing lately!
That's so nice that you are participating in the adopt-a -family program - that lady will be so grateful for everyone's kindness and generosity! I volunteered with a friend last year to wrap presents for the homeless shelters. It was amazing how many wonderful things people donated. Its wonderful to see that kind of thing, I just wi**** happened more than once or twice a year, ya know?
Money issues - the economy is going down the drain again, and gasoline is just such a huge part of our budgets these days, its a wonder we have any money left over. I come from a rather poor background, so I'm usually a penny pincher. Too many bad memories about being broke. We always had a good Christmas though. My family socked money away in a Christmas fund starting every January. It was the one time each year that you could really ask for anything (reasonable) and not worry or feel guilty about being greedy, or that electricity might get turned off because you needed new tires on your car, etc. So I look forward to this time of year and I try very hard to get thoughtful great gifts for my family because I know they sacrificed so much for me. I can't wait to make enough money to do something extravagant for each of them at least once!
I already got my main wish! I was approved for surgery and got my date!!! I am still accepting gifts from santa though :)
I guess my other wish would be to make it out of surgery safely and have a safe and speedy recovery. Also to do well in my final exams (pray for me guys!)
Congrats on going down in pant sizes! thats awesome

That was a most excellent Christmas wish, and Santa must definitely think you've been good this year
Congratulations again, and good luck on finals. My husband has a few next week too and could use some prayers because he doesn't seem to be studying. I am fortunate that my exam life is over, but I had to get through the most horrible oral exam with my doctoral committee to get to this point. They could ask anything from any point in my education. It was all fair game *shudder*

I'd like Santa to bring me a 20 lb weight loss so I can get below 200.
As for material things, I don't know. I need several things, such as new tires for the car, but I'd like to be frivilous just once and splurge on a big vacation somewhere.
My birthday falls just before Christmas, so I usually get stiffed on gifts, anyway. I'm hitting a milestone birthday this year, but I haven't decided yet how to celebrate it.

My brother's birthday is on the 22nd - I can never decide if he gets stiffed or if he gets extras... sibling rivalry tells me he gets extras, but since he's still young (will turn 15) I can imagine how hard it is to wait ALL YEAR for those presents! Either way, he usually has a very good week.
I don't like to splurge much, but lately I have been doing more of it.. sometimes you just have to go for it! Life's too short to always be responsible.
You should definitely do something exciting for a milestone birthday!
