Hey guys.  Happy Monday everyone... back to the grind after a nice vacation.  I noticed that the gym hadn't been opened yet today so here we go.. I walked for 20 minutes this morning and then negotiated my way to the lab from the parking lot in boots.  Boots!  With heels even.  I feel very grown up... actually my feet were cold.  I'll have to walk back and then I'll try to do 20 minutes on the bike this evening also. What have you done to move your body today?

Thanks for opening the gym, Dunny.  I started getting a cold yesterday afternoon, and it's full bore today.  Ugh.  Feverish, achy, painful cough, and hot, dry eyeballs. Needless to say, I'm not exercising today.  If I can get from my bed to the kitchen for water, I'll be doing a lot today. Kix

Hi, Dunny!  Thanks for opening the gym while our Kix is suffering with a cold.  Hopefully she'll be on the mend soon!  Congrats to you for navigating the world in "girl shoes" (to me, that's anything with a heel!).  I bought a pair of mid-calf black leather boots, but they do not have a heel to speak of...   As for my exercise today, I lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch.  I'll go back to the gym after work for 45-50 minutes of cardio on the elliptical trainer.   Good luck to everyone finding the time, energy, and motivation to move today! I'm checking in from St. Louis, so hi everyone! It's been a hellish week but my exercise has been my way of keeping sane. (or at least trying to). Everything that could go wrong did this week and I have been an absolute wreck - I basically spent the past 24 hours crying, I just can't stop. It's just been overwhelming. I did run today - 6 minutes warm up, 25 minutes running and 5 minutes cool down. I'll be running a 5K before ya know it. I'm heading back to Colorado tomorrow and I will be kissing the ground when i arrive. I seriously hate St.  Louis, it's a dirty, ugly town with people who have no idea how to drive. And it's so damn gloomy here! Overcast all the time and cold. I miss my Colorado sunshine. I do have some wild stories to tell, but I'm exhausted and don't feel like typing a bunch. Let's just say it includes drugs, alcohol, bodyguards (yes, actual bodyguards), cops and stolen money. Quite the drama, I tell ya. Somebody hit me across side the head the next time I decide to take something like this on.

That sure sounds stressful! Good to hear that you could work off some of that stress running.

I lived in St. Louis for 2.5 years, and it took me 1.5 years just to get used to it.  Winter and summer suck there, but spring and fall are absolutely beautiful. Having said that, hurry home, and you're getting home just in time for another cold front.  BRR! Kix

By this afternoon I was recovering from yesterday's swim, so I

1. Went and tested recliners. This included walking around the store with my cane.

2. Got in the locker room before I realized I forgot to throw my bathing suit in my bag. Could have weazled out of my workout, but I drove back to the house, then back to the pool again.

3. Swam 36 lengths and did kickboard for 4 for a total of 40 in 35 mins. I already have aches on my aches.
