UPDATE ON ME
Well, I haven't been able to site very long at this computer. My pain in the left side where the camera went in is still pretty intense. I have been taking only 1 of the 2 prescribed LorTabs every 4 hours. All I do is sleep! I have walked from one end of the house to the other several times a day. I have found that wearing a belly band helps with the pain and I tired today icing it with a frozen bag of peas. That did help. I cannot possibly answer each of you individually, but for those who sent me well wishes, I thank you form the bottom of my heart. Your advice and support is monumental! I did lose the 8lbs of fluid plus 3 more so I am headed in the right direction now. LOL I am taking in all my water, broth, popsicles, jello and tea in between naps. If it werent for this pain, I'd be able to do alot more. I will be patient and I know in time things will be better. All in all I am doing well. Bless all you and hopefully you are all doing good too. HUGS...Jeanine
Hi, Jeanine! Your first few days sound just like mine - lots of sleeping, pretty painful, and walking around my house. Oh, that and sip, sip, sip whenever I was awake. The pain does subside in a reasonable amount of time, which of course varies from person to person. But it does get better. I also found a belly band/abdominal binder made it more comfortable to talk. When I was feeling better, I'd strap that thing on over my sweatpants and walk around outside. The neighbors probably thought I was crazy, but I didn't care - just needed to be outside.
Just be a patient patient and things will continue to improve over time -

Thanks Kellie, I know you are right. I desperately want to be OFF the LorTab, but my body sure reminds me when its time for the next dose. In between, I have been icing the sore incision, that seems to be helping too. Can't bend or sleep on my left side yet, which is my favorite sleep position, darn it!
I see the MD tomorrow so we'll see what he has to say. I wi**** was nice enough to walk around outside...freezing rain all day...its really pouring outside! UGH! Thanks for the advice & well wishes! HUGS

Hey there Jeanine,
Good to hear how your doing. Sounds like your right on track. I remember having discomfort in the same place. I wasn't able to sleep comfortably on my left side for a while. If I did the pain when I got up was worse. What I did to fake it so I could sleep better was to stuff a pillow up against myself to convince me I was on my side. It actually worked. I did the same with a pillow against the side of my face and now I can sleep on my back easily. Who knew I was so easy to fool?
A suggestion - try to get off the meds and use liquid tylenol. That'll keep you awake and upright, which might ease the discomfort. I found being vertical after being horizontal made the pain worse for a longer time. And the more you move the quicker you heal. There also could be gas trapped near there, and moving will move it.
Don't worry about BM's. They'll come....and go....and come again.......
