Gym is Open (Weekend)
Since our ever faithful Kix is off enjoying California, I thought I would open up the gym (at least until I leave for Texas Wednesday - anyone want to take up the mantel for the rest of the week?)
I started my day with getting a much needed haircut! It was really driving me crazy! Then after running errands I came home, fixed lunch, then was going to go rock climbing. What I actually did was sleep for 3 hours! I was sooo tired, I just couldn't keep my eyes open. But I got up in time to at least go work out at the gym and I ended up having a great workout!
I started with 20 minutes of walking at a 15% grade. Then did about 40 minutes of weights, upper and lower. I then decided to really kill, oops, I meant push myself and do 20 minutes of sprints - running fairly quickly for 2 minutes, walking for 2 minutes, and so on. It was tough but I felt pretty good afterwards.
Tomorrow I will be spending my morning at a baptism for some friends, then I'm spending the afternoon hiking -I thought I had better take advantage of this nice weather!
So, what did you do to move your body this weekend????
I'm home! I had a great time, I'll post a long travelogue later because I'm worn to the bone right now.
I'm so glad I exercise every day, it makes it much easier to walk briskly through airports!
During my two days in Oakland, I walked 9000 steps on Friday (a new personal record) and 8000 today (my flight out of Oakland was at the gate closest to the escalator, that rarely happens to me).
As far as Sunday goes, other than a jaunt to Costco to get groceries for our soon-to-be arriving guests, I plan to plant myself in the recliner and not stir.

PS: Sat next to a couple of people from Portland who were heading to the Springs for Turkey Week. I told them I was sorry they had a long drive ahead of them at such a late hour. They said, "Oh, it's only 35 miles away." From DIA?
What parallel universe are they living in? But then, what do I know, I just live here.

LOL Kix, I've never been to DIA but I've been to the Springs lots of times and even by Texas standards I know 35 miles ain't gonna cut it... LOL
