The gym is open for weekend exercisers. I won't be exercising on Saturday -- the 12 degree incline on the treadmill really worked my back muscles, so I need a day off.  Maybe it was the increased weight I used on the ab machine.  Anyway, I'm hunched over like a question mark, so it's Icy Hot and no exercise for me on Saturday.  If I feel better Sunday, I will at least go for a walk and perhaps the rec center as well. Hi Kix just wanted to let you know, my Dh bought me a treadmill yesterday because here in Idaho it is freezing out side and I just have to say I used it for the first time last night and it kicked my A$$! Will try again today :)  Kristy

Kristy, good for you for moving so soon after surgery!  It will probably kick your ass some more, but at least you are trying. It was about 3 months after surgery before I could do a lot of exercise - I was dizzy all the time!

Even if you can only do one minute, do the one minute.  Increase your time slowly and before you know it, you'll be on that treadmill for hours! Kix

12 degree! Girl, that's steep! Probably a good idea to take a day off and take care of yourself. Today I am running, and not just run/walk. The training program has me running for 20 minutes straight. We'll see how I do. Sunday is hiking day - I am SO EXCITED to get out there, it's been way too long. I'm going with a fellow I met at a hiking website who loves to ice climb and is trying to convince me to go with him this winter. Uh, I don't think so. I'm not quite that crazy yet. He wants to check out a route for future climbs so he asked me to hike into the area with him. It's about a 10 mile hike, so I'll get some good exercise tomorrow. have a great weekend everyone!

You know, when I'm walking the 12 degrees on the treadmill, I actually enjoy it.  I only walk it at 1.7, so it's not like I'm running uphill.  I like the cardio workout I get, and I feel like I'm building up my legs in case you organize any more easy hiking trips next summer.    The more I think about it, I think my back is sore because I upped the weights on the oblique machine and did more reps.  My back feels a bit better today, but I'm still taking a day off. Where's my glorious weather?  It's cloudy and cool outside.  As soon as my sister gets off her backside, we're going to drop off our donations and then I think we are going shopping.  I have a plan to get her to agree to go to El Jardin, I'm dying for Mexican food today. Enjoy your hike!  Kix
