You may not like them now, and I know I didn't like my pre surgery pictures, but!! you will love them when you are 1 or 2 months out and you can compare how you look now to how you look then.
Trust me someday you will be soo happy you took those pictures...
Same with if you can get your husband or a family member to take pictures of you the day of your surgery, those are good to look back at. I know now where I am at, at 2 months out, the pain of surgery is fading, and "normal" life is back, but those pictures the day of surgery are a constant reminder of what I have gone through in addition to the memories.
So just keep those memeories they will be important to you :)

I believe you thats why I cringed and allowed him to photograph me. I don't expect to look very different in 2 days (the day of surgery)...but we'll see. I hear everyone saying they are so glad NOW...and you are 2 months out....I guess what I fear the most is what to expect the first 3 weeks AFTER surgery.....will I be starving...won't I care, will I sleep alot?? Will I feel like a dishrag from not eating..only liquids? Do you still poop having only liquids? Am I the ONLY one who's going for surgery in 2 more days??? Anyone else out there going soon also?? If so, what are you feeling right now?

the answer to all of those questions are uniquely your answers...
personally for me the first 2 weeks after surgery i was on a full liquid diet (which actually included some more solids like yogurt and cottage cheese)
I was sore when i came home but the medications helped. I napped often, i would feel like a dishrag if i didnt drink all my protein, you definetly have less bowel movements and that will continue for a few weeks. I never felt like crud until i didnt get all my protein in.
hey you can feel free to contact me if you wanna talk or you have questions...

Thank you for the feedback. I realize we are all different, but I can see that protein is key so I will try and do my best to get it in. My daughter mentioned that the water consumption was difficult because you can't drink 1/2 hr before eating or 2 hrs after. That doesn't leave much time to get that much fluid in, but I will do my level best. I truly appreciate y'all taking the time to answer me back. You're the best!

Its absolutely true - you will be happy you took pictures pre-op. Then you have something to show people when they don't believe you were ever heavy!
They are good for comparing, I wish I had taken some. Also, take your measurements now, so you can monitor your inches. It helps keep you motivated if/when you feel like you aren't losing enough weight you are still probably losing inches.
I won't be back in town in time to wish you luck, so I'll do it now. Good luck, best wishes for a fast uneventful surgery and hospital stay!

Thanks so much Dunny for your ongoing support and encouragement. Where are you going? Someplace nice and fun I hope! I will take all the well wishes with me in my head and when I get nervous I will reflect on all of you and what you've been thru and try to remember every event from strat to finish so I can help the next newbie along the way. Hugs to all.....
