MONDAY WEIGH IN!

I didn't have any hair loss at all post-op.  I was diligent about getting in enough protein even when I didn't feel like it and I also took my vitamins religiously.  It could be that I just lucked out.  I did have a very short hair cut just before surgery, so maybe I did have hair loss and didn't notice because my hair was so short, anyway. I had cellulitis about a month after surgery, but I'd been battling it off and on for over a year.  It didn't have anything to do with my WLS.  My WLS gives his patients an IV bag of antibiotics first thing after surgery as a preventive measure.  My plastic surgery did this, too, when I finally had the diseased blobby lopped off my thigh.  Not sure if it's standard operating procedure, but I wouldn't worry.  Just tell yourself you will have an uneventful surgery and be home in two days, and you won't have time to catch any of those hospital germs. Kix PS, Well done on the heart tests!  Didn't I tell you not to worry about those, too?

Some complications, no infection though.  My surgeon gave a ton of antibiotics (3 bags each of 3 different kinds I believe) and I think that's fairly common although he maybe overloads.  If its an incision infection that can be easily handled.  The dangerous infections are the ones where part of your digestive system leaks into your body cavity.. and that is exceeeeedingly rare.  That's also why they do leak tests before they let you eat or drink.  Congratulations on your clearance!  Its right around the corner now!!!

Hi Marge, It's getting cooler here - but about what it should be for November - low to mid 70's.   Here are my numbers for the week:

Surgery Referral Weight 368 Feb. 8, 2006
Kaiser Options Class Wt.  375  June 14, 2006
Consult Weight: 351 December 7, 2006
Surgery Weight - 344 Jan. 31, 07
Last Week: 219.8
Today: 216.2 I'm a bit below what I was 2 weeks ago - still don't have a clue why my weight jumped last week, but at least I'm back down and a bit below.  I've been stuck in this range for so many weeks, that I don't ever think I'll get below 200!  My body fat % is still dropping, but not my pounds.  I'm getting more and more comments that I've dropped so much more weight in the last month, but my weight hasn't changed.  I just stuck!  I hope that next week I can budge my way to 215 or under.

Hi. I have been really busy with work and just got back this week from Houston. So busy with meetings and when they wanted to take me out to eat at night I said no thanks, got a little something from room service and it was snooze land. I guess I am still not up to my energy levels yet High weight-390 Switch weight-367 Last week- 314 This week- 313 Things seem to be slower this month, but I am trying not to be upset and to just stick with the program. We'll see how things go next Monday. Hugs to all. Jo
