Marge I am from IL and anything above zero in November is great weather to me. I am loving this GA weather. Everything is so beautiful. I took a picture with my phone of the most beautiful red tree I've ever seen. I don't know if we have them in IL or not. I think if we did the snow covered up the beauty. I am down 2 pounds this week. I'll take it BEGINNING WEIGHT-362(01/13/07 Pre-op consult)

Here in CO, our weather fluctuates like crazy.  For example, it was 74 yesterday and the high today will be somewhere "near" 50 degrees.  Mid-week, it's supposed to be back up into the high 60s.  I thnk Felicia sent this latest bunch of cold air down from Montana (thanks, Felicia!  BTW, your new avatar is very attractive!) I'm always surprised that people donate soiled or damaged clothes.  I never do.  I don't donate anything I wouldn't want to wear myself.  Speaking of which, I have undergrown all the bras I was given by my WLS friends, so they are going off to the Goodwill today, along with my walker and my wheelchair cushion. At the ink stamp party yesterday, I met a large woman who asked those of us who had WLS about our experiences and how much weight we had lost.  After we told her, she said, "Well, I thought about WLS but I know people at work who have lost 150 lbs the right way, so I just think I'll do it myself."  Whatever floats your boat, hon.  I'll bet no one at your office has lost 310 lbs just from dieting. Weight-wise, I'm a broken record.  I didn't do much exercise over the weekend, and as I've said before, I do not lose an ounce without exercise.  I have been journaling my food using CalorieKing for the Palm Pilot, so by keeping track of my caloric intake, I avoided a gain this week. Beginning weight: 530 lbs Surgery weight: 407 lb Last week: 220 lbs This week: 220 lbs (sigh) Kix

I'll say it again - just stay the course, Kix!  I stayed in the 220-225 range for about 3 months just after I hit my one-year anniversary from my surgery.  For me, it was a combination of things, including being more "fluid" about what I ate (meaning I wasn't being as good as I should have been), not exercising as much, and lots of holiday eating.  I knew what I should be doing, but dang it, I was tired of being so focused for so long.  Anyway, I eventually got tired of being in that range, my body was ready to move on, and I got things moving again.  Slowly, but moving nonetheless.... By the way, I find the information from the Calorieking software really valuable at this point in my journey.  If I didn't have the detailed information about my average calorie intake, exercise, protein, carbs, fats, etc., I would really feel stuck at this point.  With the information, I can make small changes to my daily routine and see how that works over the course of a few weeks/months.  It's a slow process (I'm losing 2-3 pounds per month now), but I think it will serve me well when I'm ready to work on maintenance mode.   Anyway, just keep doing the right things - the scale will move again eventually!!! That's exactly why I bought the Calorieking program for the Palm Pilot.  It's good for me to journal my food intake -- it keeps me honest and helps me see where I can make adjustments.  I also like journaling my exercise, although sometimes it's hard to figure out how to journal my exercise when Calorieking says I've burned more calories than the in-line machine says I did! It could also be that I'm at my correct weight and I won't lose any more until I have some skin removed.  After gaping in horror at my huge bags o'fat hanging off my thighs and gut, perhaps the additional weight is from the hanging fat/skin and not because I need to actually lose any more weight.  Hard to say! Thanks for the pep talk, and for being such a supportive pal! Kix

I've also noticed that calorieking overestimates the calories burned as compared to my recumbent bike readout.  Not sure what to do about it besides list less exercise than I actually did.  I do like the software quite a lot, especially because MOST of the time I can find the listing for the food I ate, and then I don't have to enter a custom food.  I haven't been journaling my food well lately, with my laptop's suicidal tendencies it seems like when I am at the computer I am usually fixing something or writing on OH.  I started back up journaling today though.  It makes me more accountable, and lets me know if I have an leeway in the evening for a SF hot chocolate or some other snack.
