Happy spooky day to you too, Marge!  I'm at work today - lots of folks dressed up and we did potluck lunch.  Way, way, way too much food going on here, especially desserts!  I've eaten way too much, but am heading to the gym in an hour or so to work some of it off.  In the old days, I would have eater four times as much by now, and kept right on eating.  Today, I've eaten more than I usually do, but still not nearly as much as I used to.  So could be worse... I'm looking forward to passing out candy to the kids tonight.  We usually get 30-50 kids, depending on the weather.  Since it's pretty nice here today, I'm hoping for a good turnout tonight.  I particularly enjoy seeing the little ones - so cute, so earnest, and sometimes so tired but they want that candy, so they'll keep going.  Lots of fun -  Hope everyone has a great Halloween!!!! Hey Marge, We had our Halloween Sat night, but my husband dressed up for work today, and I might dress up and go visit our friends' kids tonight  to go trick or treating - they are 1,5,9 and we haven't seen them in a while so we'd like to.

Boo! No plans here.  The weather is kind of chilly, and frankly, a lot of kids don't seem to do the trick or treat thing any more, at least not in my neighborhood.  Of course, we don't exacly encourage them to come to the door (no decorations, no porch light). Your living in the country wouldn't have stopped me when I was a kid.  We used to trick or treat in a five mile radius from the house, then go home and change costumes, and go out and trick or treat again.  After the second go-around, we'd go back to my house and have sloppy joes and Orange Crush.  I'd have at least two huge pillowcases full of candy, and my dad would poach all the baby Snickers bars after we fell asleep. The last time I actually went door-to-door, I was trick or treating with my nieces, who were around 10 and 8 at the time.  I was in my early 20s and visiting from out of town.  I put on a fireman's hat and took a pillowcase for candy for me, too.  I had lots of scowls from people, and one old fart actually said to me, "Aren't you a bit old for this sort of thing?"  I said, "Hell, no!"  I figured I deserved something for hauling these kids up and down their hilly streets.  Kix
