My DH and I were supposed to go to Ocean City Maryland this weekend. It is about a 5 hour drive from Cumberland. But I had really been dragging this week from work and I got home late on Friday. To top it off, it was pouring. Driving through the Alleghany Mountains in the dark while it is raining when you are tired is not a good idea. Plus I was feeling kinda guilty for the way the house was looking. You can always tell how busy my work is going by the condition of my house. So we decided not to go. For the rest of the evening on Friday I just vegged out. We watched an old Agatha Christe movie on DVD and then I went to sleep. I woke up about 11am on Saturday and my DH made me coffee and a bacon, spinach omelet in bed. The doggie and I loved that. I lazed around in bed till around 1pm. Then I shooed him out of the house. David is looking for a new computer. His is from 1997 and it is past time for a new one. So off he went. And I went to work. First I went thorough the house and put everything back into the room or closet it belonged in. I put away all the laundry, stripped and made the bed but not ours. I can't put sheets on our king bed. Not enough pull power. LOL. I scrubbed the bathrooms from top to bottom and did the same in the kitchen. I dusted every piece of furniture. And began the vacuuming. When David got home, he could not believe his eyes. But the very best part....MY HIPS NEVER ONCE HURT!!!  I could just keep on going and going. We then pulled out furniture so we could finish the vacuuming and he helped me to make our bed. Then I told him I felt like going out to eat. That was when he couldn't believe his ears. I took a shower and we went out to CiCi's pizza. I ate the tops of 3 slices and 4 drumette wings and 5 cherry tomatoes an a tablespoon of blue cheese dressing. It was sooooo good. I ate a lactaid and it made all the difference in the word for my being able to tolerate the cheese. I am so happy about that too. Then I tell David I am not ready to go home, so he says lets go to Walmart and I will show you the computer I want. So we went to Walmart and walked around and then HE says he needs to go home and sit. NOT ME. My thigh muscles hurt-I didn't know I had any of those LOL. It was amazing to me that I could do all of this and my hips did not hurt me. I needed no pain medicine to dull the ache so I could sleep and today I am fine an ready to go. Today I feel like cooking. I am making my own baked chicken wings and on allrecipies I found  low carb menues. A crock pot beef stew I am going to make. And lime chicken and garlic chicken yummo!! Life is good and I thank God!!!

That's awesome Jo!  My apartment is in bad shape these days and we are living out of laundry baskets.  Wanna come visit?   I'm glad you are feeling so energetic... and maybe slightly green with envy.  I still get tired pretty quick.

Boy can I relate! I can remember before surgery that just changing my sheets were a huge undertaking - my back would hurt and I would be all sweaty afterwards. Cleaning was an all-day chore, I had to do it in small spurts - let's just say that I didn't do it very often.     Now, it takes me about 30 minutes to clean and I just whip those sheets on no problem! It's a great feeling, isn't it! Just wait until you are a few more months out - your husband is really going to be hurting!
