Has anyones surgery been cancelled because of there weight?
Well I am one week from today till my surgery, and on the verge of not having it because of my weight, I have put on some water weight and they put me on a water pill for it, but I am back up to 374 well I HAVE TO BE 375 or lower to have surgery, Dr. Oakley is strict about keeping your BMI under 60 which I respect, but I have dont everything that has been asked of me and he said to me if I go over 375 they cancel, so the day of surgery they weigh me and after being complant and that scale says 376 I go home with no surgery...
I just can from my parents home, I was there getting support and I am feeling so frustrated, with it all.. I am really trying to stay poositivehere, but it is so hard, so NO SALT, NO SODIUM, ON THE WATER PILL, PICK THE WATER DRINKING BACK UP, AND MORE EXCERCISE.... FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS..
ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO GET MORE WEIGHT OFF IN 6 DAYS... THANKS MY OH FRIENDS

I lost 2-3lbs of water from the bowel prep the afternoon/night before surgery (2 bottles of magnesium citrate was my bowel prep). Drink a lot of water, keep your calories low (a thousand), no carbs. I drank 2 atkins advantage shakes each day and then for dinner had a deck of cards sized piece of lean meat (turkey, chicken, or fish) and a hand sized amount of salad or veggies - no butter, just used lemon juice as dressing. That came out to about 800 calories a day, and it sucked but you gotta do what you gotta do. You could always just do liquids if you were really determined - although I personally couldn't, and I preferred eating something with more complete nutrition that close to surgery. Best of luck!
I did a week of liquid protein before my surgery - it was required by my surgeon's office - and lost 10 pounds. I did 4-5 protein shakes per day, mostly No-Sugar Carnation Instant Breakfast, which worked out to 800-1000 calories. Did it suck? Oh yeah. Was it worth it? Oh yeah.
Good luck keeping that scale at 374 or under for the next week! You can do it!!!

Salt and white carbs blow me up like a balloon so stay away form those at all costs. also like you said, pick up your water drinking because beleive it or not, drinking more water helps you lose water weight. Good luck!
Jesus is so good to me; I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
The Medifast I have to be on for 6 weeks prior to surgery has me dropping weight pretty good. I have lost 14 1/2 lbs in the past 2 weeks and it feels like since last Mon. another 4-5 lbs. Your MD should have it in his office. I have to have a colonoscopy on Tues so I imagine no food at all for 24 hrs will help drop some tonage too. Can't wait!
My birthday is tomorrow..I don't know how strong I'll be, but on Sunday its right back to the program. My MD requires a 25 lb weight loss in those 6 weeks on Medifast even though my insurance company only requires 15 lbs. Can't wait until all the MD appointments are over with...seems they are non-stop. Have a good weekend everyone!
