Lordy, Lordy, I'm gonna be 40

Hey, guys and gals, thought I'd give a shout out and ask you all to celebrate my 40th birthday with me!  I'll hit the big 4-0 tomorrow, Saturday, October 13th!  I came in to my office this morning and my co-workers had decorated my office with lots of balloons and they'd hung squiggly "40" decorations from my ceiling.  Also have a lovely, shiny headback that says "40" - wearing that intermittently, as I have a big head and it'll give me a headache if I wear it too long!  A fabulous way to start the 40th festivities.  Tomorrow, my girlfriends are throwing a poker bash at my house, and they've invited lots of good folks.  I got to plan the menu - bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp ****tail, hot pepper cheese & crackers, pizza, and wings.  Oh, and birthday cake (white cake with light frosting from a local bakery).  And there will margaritas until I just can't take any more.  Tomorrow I'm eating what I want; figure I can burn it off on the elliptical next week, but a girl only turns 40 once!!!!   And on Sunday, I'll celebrate with my family - we do joint celebrations for birthdays, so we'll be celebrating my 40th, my niece's 21st, and two nephews - 8 and 10.  It'll be a good time, I'm sure. Anyway, wanted to let my OH buds share in the fun, even if it's only vicariously.  Hope everyone has a great weekend - I know I'm planning to!!! Kellie

40?  Oh, my, Kellie, you are just a pup.  I can see 40 clearly in my rear view mirror!  It's lovely that your colleagues care so much about you that they did up your office.  As for your weekend, well, perhaps I will make sure to watch CNN just in case the poker party gets out of hand! Thanks, Kix!  Japanese?  You never cease to amaze me; what a wealth of interesting knowledge you are!  I'm definitely just a pup, and feeling quite feisty.  I'm having a great time celebrating my birthday, and am not at all bothered by turning 40!  Life just keeps getting better -  Keep an eye on CNN - you never know what might happen Kellie

40 was a great one for me - I felt like I was finally 'old enough' (well, mature enough) to be an adult. Took me a while to feel comfortable in my own skin! Have a terrific birthday and enjoy that birthday cake!

Thanks, PJ.  I'm still not sure I feel like an adult, but I definitely have the mortage, insurance bills, and student loans to prove that I should be an adult.  That being said, I'm pretty happy with my life right now, so being 40 is alright by me.   I'm going to enjoy a small piece of cake - I don't eat a lot of sweets, but enjoy a little something now and then.   Have a great weekend -  Kellie

Happy Birthday Kellie congradulations. I am so glad to have some one going into the 40's with me. I turn 40 exactly 2 months later Mine is December 13th. Enjoy your Birthday you deserve it after working so hard and accomplishing everything that you have .
