Good morning!  Let's get busy! I'm leaving the house shortly to go to two aqua arthritis classes.  I will most likely do some interval training after class.  Later on today, I'll go to the regular aquacise class with my sibling. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

(channeling Richard Simmons)  SWIRL!  SWIRL!

Ugh, I hate Richard Simmons, and I don't own any high-cut shorts and sequined tops, so I guess I can't be him today!  Chewing an apple counts because the chewing helps tone your facial muscles.  Kix

15 mins elliptical 30 mins upper body weight training 15 mins elliptical Last night I even added a round of "free weights" training with the DH.... he loved that!   I don't usually use the free weights because I'm afraid I'll hurt myself if I use them when no one else is around to spot me.....

Good workout!   I haven't tried the free weights yet, either.  I have fun watching the guys at the rec center use them.  Some of them really get into it, making loud grunting and groaning noises.  I prefer using the weight machines, although with free weights, you can tailor your lifting position to change up which muscles are working. How long did it take you to work up to 15 minutes on the elliptical?  My knees wear out after 5-6 minutes. Kix

Good Morning Kix! Enjoy the pool today, along with the gym.  You have a busy exercise day planned.  I'm sure after doing all that programming you want to get out and move. I did my 1 hour of water aerobics this morning, and will probably go back tonight for another hour. Have a great day!

Actually, I wish I had been doing programming, at least it would have been more interesting than what I was doing.  I was doing a site inventory for a web site, which means I had to record URLs on each page, then click on each link and record the URLs on those pages, etc.  Repeat until insanity or boredom sets in.  It doesn't help that my background is in public health, so anything remotely related to web programs gives me headaches.  I had to laugh, though.  The different program names for this company's products were as stupid-sounding as the names manufacturers come up with for medicines and vaccines.  This particular web site was poorly designed and packed with information, so clicking on a link was like flying off into the unknown.  Nothing made sense. Do you teach every day?  At my rec center, the teachers change up every other day, so if there's a teacher we like, we know not to show up every day.  I like the M-W morning teacher and the T-Th evening teacher.  I'd like to try the other warm water pool, but I can't seem to get my backside out of the house prior to 8 AM.  The real rigorous classes are all at the cold pool, and I just can't bear the cold pool. I teach Monday nights and Friday mornings -- BUT I go sometimes on M/W mornings -- this gal is very easy, and I don't get much out of it, and I also love the T/TH mornings, because that will be a good workout.  T/TH nights are good, but lots of dance type moves, and I'm not that co-ordinated!  I don't go W nights because I've just finished being in the pool for 3 hours for swim lessons, and I'm COLD and TIRED, and we have church on Wed. nights.  Friday nights are good, as are Sat. mornings.  The only teacher that I really don't care for is M/W mornings.  Today, I was asked to cover the cool down for the instructor *****ceived an urgent phone call from her daughter's school.

Hi, Kix.  I was tired just reading your plan for the day.  I got over that though and hit the gym for 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer at lunch today.  I had a nice, sweaty workout.  And I always feel good when I get my work out done at lunch, so my evening is mine to enjoy!  Hope you had good workouts -  Kellie

Hi, Kellie: My workouts were fun, although I had to modify my plans a bit.  I arrived at the warm pool 15 minutes before class, so I jogged in place in the water until class started.  Then we had 45 minutes of aqua arthritis -- today's teacher has MS and tends to do more yoga-like exercises, so it was different yet invigorating.  The class was packed, and I had planned to stay for the second class, but it was also packed.  I decided to leave and do my interval training, and the in-line machine at the rec center with the warm pool was broken again and all the treadmills were occupied. I went to my preferred rec center and did 10 minutes of inline skating machine, then did around 30-35 minutes of weight training, and did 12 minutes of intervals on the treadmill.   Tonight's class will be good, I just hope the pool isn't packed.  The pool really isn't big enough to hold more than 14 bodies per class, but the rec center doesn't do a good job cutting off people who show up.  Maybe if the classes are popular, they will add more of them. I hope that when I finally go back to work, I find a job that has a place to exercise nearby.  I would prefer to work out at lunchtime rather than early in the morning or after work. Kix (need to remember my pool shoes are drying on the porch)
