Gym is Open (Wednesday 10/3)
I had a great time at "Spamalot" last night! My sides were sore from laughing myself half to death.
Our evening was marred, though, when my sibling didn't pay attention as she was backing up to leave a parking space and managed to clock the car parked behind her. No serious damage at all to either car, but she was quite rattled. I was rattled, too -- who backs up without looking?
Anyway, my plans for exercise today include two aquacise classes. I'm not sure I'll do more than that, I need to get serious about pulling together a resume. I also have another boatload of work to do on the project from Hell my niece hired me to do.
What did you do to move your body today?
Kix
I'm posting my plan, in part to make sure I stick to it! I'm going to hit the gym at lunch time to lift weights for upper and lower body. That usually takes about an hour or so. Then I'll go back to the gym after work for 40-50 minutes on the elliptical trainer. I'm super busy at work, and there's always a danger that I'll use that as excuse to skip my workout routine. Which is ironic, because super busy usually equals super stressed, and that's when I need the workouts the most!!! Anyway, I'm putting my plan into the universe so that I feel I must honor my commitment. Will update this post later with my actual accomplishment(s).
Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move today!
Kellie
Surely all that laughing last night can count for some exercise!!! Sorry about the car mishap.
Gym at 5 am -
upper body with weights (chest, back, shoulders, biceps, triceps)
Treadmill for 18 minutes and Elliptical for 18 minutes
I was so tired when I got up I wrestled in my mind if I should get out of bed. When I was done my workout I was SOOOO energized and feel great now!!! I usually hit my slump around 2:30 or 3. I'm typing this to remind my brain that when I do the workout I NEVER regret it!!!!!

Thanks for letting me know about Spamalot coming here, I am definitely not going to miss it again. We love MP, have all the movies and the show box set on DVD.
I walked before work this morning, about 20 minutes - an with walking to and from the lab/parking lot I'm calling it 30 minutes at least. I didn't do the bike last night, I was really stiff and then I dumped off dinner. (chicken and french onion soup from a restaurant.. guessing they put sugar in the soup). I am glad to know I dump (from sugar more than fat I think) because I don't want to be tempted by sweets... until dumping actually happens. Then I am thinking very unrepeatable things about this surgery as my heart wants to explode out of my chest and I feel like fainting but somehow sweat AND shiver at the same time. Two days in a row... Monday I dumped from a citracal chew followed by a fiber tablet. Its really not fair when you don't even eat and it happens!
Hi Kix..
Glad you enjoyed spamalot...isn't so great to be able to go places and not worry about the seats...
I just love it..
This morning I got my behind up at 5:00am and went walking with DH for 45 minutes.
Today at lunch I plan on walking for 15 minutes. Then tonite I will ride my stationery bike for at least 30 minutes. I really got lazy when I was off with my gallbladder surgery..(I really milked it) so I have to get back on track. I know I should be doing some type of weights, but I really haven't even tryed.
Good luck on your resume..

I feel like I'm getting back into the swing of things and FINALLY was able to do weights! I did my usual 20 minutes of warmup, then spent about 40 minutes doing upper and lower body. I'm a little sore today but I felt like I didn't lose too much muscle during my 3 week hiatus. I could still lift at the same weight and do the same reps.
I also spent the entire day walking everywhere - it is pretty nice having a good transportation system here. I'm saving money and getting lots of exercise! Plus, I end up carrying a back pack filled with books, so that has to count as some sort of resistance training - the thing is freakishly heavy.
