I am hoping someone on here will have some suggestions for me--I am desparately in need of an office chair that will support me.  My current office chair is breaking and is VERY uncomfortable.  Does anyone know of a cheap office chair that I can buy--must support at least 475 pounds? My back, legs, knees and feet thank you!

I know of some very expensive ones but few cheaper ones.  There are some in the $300 range but I haven't seen many cheaper. This is my office chair: http://www.nextdayofficesupplies.com/Catalog/Product/BP_1/ Mid-Back-Big-and-Tall-Chairs/SAF3491BU/

You both recommended the same chair and that is the same one I was thinking about buying!  Too funny!!  I will probably have to wait until Christmas to buy it (Christmas money from my Dad), but at least I know I picked a good one!  You guys were/are happy with that chair??

That's not the one I have - I use the first one I listed, and yes I am happy with it.  I work at a computer all day and its helped with sore bottom, back, and legs (where the arms of other chairs would squeeze).  I also like that I can lean back in it and close my eyes for a few minutes without worrying that the whole thing is going to collapse!

Did you ask your employer?  I never asked mine, but my job had an ergonomics guy in who wrote a report who said "Carrie needs a new chair due to her stature" and listed the requirements.  Basically, I ended up with a barcolounger on wheels, all leather, massage, big wide seat, padded arms, super high back with lumbar support, for $1900.  It was better than my boss' chair, haha.  In fact, so nice, that after I lost $100 my boss took it and gave me his chair. It is worth a shot to tell your boss you are uncomfortable and need a new chair. Carrie

I also talked to my boss about it in order to get a new chair.  It was awkward because she is a little chinese lady who weighs 90lbs wet - but I told her that the chair I was using was a safety hazard because it wasn't designed to hold my weight and if it broke I might be injured.   I didn't feel I could work with that risk.  So she asked me what kind of chair I wanted, with a budget of 500.  I picked one out and she ordered it.

You can also check warehouse sales places and goggle used bariatric office furniture,  My boss bought mine, but it was around 450.00 dollars.  Good Luck.

Hi Maddie  go to staples.com  in their furniture section click on chairs and then on the big and tall section, They have some really inexpensive chairs under 70.00 that have  500 lbs weight limit with or with out arms. I am an office manager and spend sometimes 12 hours a day in that damn chair lol and that is the one I use!  Have a great day! E
