It's the weekend!  Everybody I did not get to the rec center yesterday.  I finally finished my project around noon, and actually drove toward the rec center, but I was just too tired and my quads too sore. No rec center today, either.  We have a fun outing planned, though.  We are driving to Manitou Springs (an hour or so from our house) to take the Pike's Peak Cog Railway up to the top of the mountain.  It's one of those 14ers that PJ likes to hike, but I'm lazy.  I'm not sure yet how much walking we will do, but we'll do some, which is good.  I ate too much at dinner last night and need to work off some of the excess food.  Chicken leg/thigh AND a salad was too much, but I certainly enjoyed it. What will you do to move your body today? Kix

Hi Kix, Sounds like a fun outing.  We drove to the top of Pike's peak about 10 years ago as part of a family vacation.  My favorite part was when they stop you to check how hot your tires and brakes are before they let you continue on.  Crazy!  I think the train would have been a lot more fun and a lot less scary - I've never liked mountain roads - at least not since we drove down from Sandia Peak in Albuquerque during an ice storm *shudder*  I grew up in the mountains but I'm a big baby about heights now.  I finally started the bike, yay!  I walked for 15 minutes this morning to loosen up and then did 25 minutes on the bike.  My weight hasn't moved in almost 2 weeks, so I hope switching to the bike will help start me back up.  I think I will do a few days slow and low intensity and then up both after I am sure I am comfortable on the bike again.  Its kind of cool though, I can pedal a lot easier than I could at 440lbs - not as much fat in the way on my legs or stomach or something.  Seems like more jiggling though, boo.  Have a great weekend all!

I finally ventured out today to do a hike - this was my first exercise since I hurt my ribs last week and I was a bit worried about my breathing. But I did pretty well - it was a fairly simple hike and I spent about 3 hours exploring. There were some great views of the mountains to the west and it looked like it was snowing! I had been invited to hit another 14'er today but opted out since my ribs were still bothering me - when i saw the mountains I was glad I didn't go!
