Good morning, everyone! I was up half the night working on a project.  My niece is an IT consultant in CA and when she can, she sends non-technical work my way so I can earn some much needed extra $.  When she hired me for this latest gig, she said she needed it in a week.  Well, without a firm date (Get this done by 9//22!), I lost track of time, thinking it hadn't been a week yet.  Imagine my surprise yesterday when I realized it was due today!    I worked all day yesterday and most of the night.  I haven't pulled all nighters since college (and I was half the age then that  I am now ).  Good news, though, I finished it in time for her deadline. What does this compelling saga have to do with exercise?  Mostly that I'm praying I can scrounge up the energy to get in the shower, hose myself off, and get in the car to go to the rec center.  I am not very motivated today.  It's such a pretty day outside, I'd rather go for a drive.  NO!  MUST EXERCISE! Anyone else unmotivated today?  What did you do to move your body today? Sleep deprived Kix

Kix, Congratulations on meeting the deadline!  I'm a procrastinator and I'm always trying to do the miraculous in meeting deadlines...I have one today I'm cramming for! I was too unmotivated to make it to the gym this morning before work, but, I did pack my gym clothes to go after work.  I must exercise off some of this extreme stress!!! Lori

I'm spoiled in that I can go to the rec center any time during the day -- I'm not working right now.  My sibling jokes that going back to work will put a serious crimp in my lifestyle.  She might be right! Once I start working, I will have to join the "Up With the Roosters Club" to get my exercise in before work, or else it just won't happen. Did you get to the gym after work? Kix

Kix, Actually, I did not make it to they gym!  This is why I have to do mornings, things come up too easily at night!!!! When you do go back to work it will crimp your lifestyle, but, hopefully, it will be worth it! Hugs, Lori

Morning Kix, All nighters are so much fun .  Go and get your exercise, then some sleep!   I didn't make it to the pool or gym this morning, but will go tonight.  I had to declutter and get stuff ready for the house to be cleaned this morning, and ran out of time for the water aerobics class.  I finally got warm last night after sleeping under 2 quilts and a blanket.  I have to look into a lightweight wet suit or something to help keep me warmer in the pool.  I did get a rashguard  yesterday to help keep warm, and it was much better than just wearing a bathing suit.  Last night a****er aerobics, all the women came wearing a rashguard - so that gives you an idea that it was much colder.

If you think of something lightweight and warm for the pool, let me know.  I could start using the nice, but cold pool at my preferred rec center if I had a fur bathing suit (or something more suitable). What is a rashguard? Kix

A rashguard is a light weight warm shirt that you wear under a wet suit to prevent a rash from the rubbery material of the wetsuit.  I've found that this type of shirt really helps to keep you warmer, and you can also get rash guard shorts.  Heres a couple of websites to check out http://www.diversdirect.com/scripts/ecatalogisapi.dll/Group? Group=161&Template=9990000032000999&maxresults=15&searchn=0 I got an XL mens size, and it works well.  They do fit tight over a suit, but they do keep you MUCH warmer. You might also see about what they call a "spring suit", which is a short wet suit designed to keep your core warm. You can look at wetsuits here: http://www.diversdirect.com/scripts/ecatalogisapi.dll/Group? Group=33&Template=9990000032000999&maxresults=15&searchn=0 Hopefully, you can find something to help you stay warm!

Hi, Diana! I tried changing my avatar recently, and messed everything up.  I'll try again when my brains are less scrambled.  With all those crunches you do, I'll bet you can bounce a quarter off your abs!  I am envious!  I use the ab machine at the gym, and so far, all I've managed to do is make my fat hang more prominently. Hi, Kix.  Congrats on meeting your deadline, and for surviving an all-nighter.  I don't think I could do that these days - could barely handle it in college!  Hope you managed to find the energy to exercise after your long night, but if not that's okay too.   As for me, I was in a training class Thursday that let out early, so I went to the gym for 50 minutes on the elliptical trainer.  I was done and heading home by 5:00 p.m., which was delightful (I usually don't even head to the gym under 5:45 p.m. or later).   Kellie
