2cd post op visit with Plastic Surgeron.....

Hey Ya'll,         Im a day late and a dollar short I know... I had the appointment on Tuesday but just didnt sit my lazy butt down long enough to post a letter lol.... So here it is five thirty here in the morning and cant sleep and I say... Make the best of this time huh? I have really either got a bad case of insomnia or menopause starting lol... My husband might say the last one at times.... I got the the dr really thinking he was gonna take the last drain out and was all excited... Well he didnt. He said he just wasnt comfortable enough with the drainage still and wanted it very low so wouldnt have complications like seromas down the road... So...... I did say when I walked in that I had no intention of crying on him today lol and he was saying dont you worry about that... It was a good reason to cry..But still makes ya feel stupid ya know... Then he was starting to say how he wasnt happy at all with the results of the upper skin right below my bra line that is poking out. Hey I told him didnt bother me but he insists we fix it. So guess within a few weeks or so will get that fixed. Dont know if thats a office snip snip or hospital one.. Either way.. done come to far to care. I found out also that there was a mixup with my insurance and they didnt originally approve the breast deal. The two surgeries the stupid woman on the phone with bcbs was talking about was the mons area and the stomach deal. So dr sent the breast info back in and they turned me down. ugh... But I have to say at this time in the game I wasnt even upset... Go figure... So guess that will give me something to ponder over maybe the first of the year. I can live without breast surgery to tell ya the truth. My stomach area was on a whole nother level.I can just pick the kids up and stick them in there carseat and I know they will stay but the mons/vagina deal........ Well... never saw a carseat for that lol...So healing well on this end.. Just wanted to update yall... Even though late.I wore a slip on dress to my grandsons soccer game yesterday and was a freaking MEDIUM!!! I have NEVER wore anything medium except maybe a medium drink when I spill it on me lol... So yall have a great weekend and tapping foot here waitng on fall dangit!! Hugs Marge

I am sitting here ROFLMAO with your comment about wearing a medium drink and a car seat for the abdomen-mons area. How funny is that. And how wonderful that you can wear a medium. What an inspiration you are. I am sorry the drain is still in, they are so darn uncomfortable and inconvenient. Cant wait to see how you are going to look when all is said and done. Hugs. Jo

Hey Marge, You are sooooo funny!  I have always enjoyed how you look to the postive side of things.  I'm supposed to have my own PS on October 2nd.  Kinda freaked-out, but the doc assures me that he'll get my insurance co. to take care of the panni cause they are doing the hernia and possibly gall bladder too.  Tell me about this drain thing.  How long does that puppy stay in anyways?? You mentioned something before about a purse-type thing that you had to carry around with you...what's that all about??? I had open RNY so I'm pretty sure I had a drain or two....I just was soooo  doped-up from my medical drama that I didn't pay too much mind.  Did you have the panni or the abdomoplasty?  It might sound like I'm being the nosey one, but I figured you were game.  You got into a size medium slip on dress????? HEY GINGER,        GLAD TO HEAR FROM A OLDIE BUT GOODIE SURGERY BUDDY LIKE ME LOL..... HOW EXCITING IT IS TO SEE YOU GETTING PLASTICS SOON!! WHO HOO!! OK FIRST THINGS FIRST... THIS DRAIN WILL BE GOING EVERYWHERE<<< YOU GO... I AM HEADING TO CHURCH WITH MY FOSTER MOM TODAY AND YUP... ITS GONNA BE DANGLIN ALL THE WAY... I HAVE TO ADMIT THOUGH... WONT BE WEARING UNDERDRAWS AS THEY SAY DOWN THIS WAY LOL... SO WILL BE STRUTTIN IN THERE LIKE BRITTNEY SPEARS AGAIN TODAY.. MY DRAIN HOSE IS RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE VAGINA AREA AND OMG... TRYED UNDIES WHEN WENT TO THE DR AND BY THE TIME I WAS OUTTA THERE IT WAS TERRIBLE... SO.. I HAD TWO DRAINS. ONE FOR BOTTOM OF STOMACH AREA WHICH HE WILL TOTALLY TAKE OUT TUE. ITS GOTTEN TO 5 CCS NOW. AND HAD ONE FOR TWO WEEKS. IF YOU TAKE THEM OUT TO SOON YOU GET WHAT THEY CALL SEROMAS SOMETIMES. ITS WHERE THE FLUID IS STILL PUMPING IN THAT AREA AND THAT SUCKER WILL GET LIKE A GRATEFRUIT UP UNDER THE SKIN AND HAVE TO HAVE IT EITHER REOPENED TO DRAIN OR SUCK IT OUT WITH NEEDLE... ( SEE, THATS REDNECK PHYSICIAN LINGO) LOL.. ANYWHO.. I WILL BE LOW ENOUGH FOR THAT THIS WEEK. YOU POP THIS LIL TOP OFF OF A LIL PLASTIC BALL THAT IS ATTACKED TO THE HOSE IN YA AND SQUEEZE THE PRETTY STUFF OUT. AT FIRST ITS REALLY RED. THEN GOES THRU ALL OTHER STAGES BEFORE BETTER. SO NOW ITS LIKE PALE PINK AND CLEAR SOME OTHER DAYS. THEN YOU MEASURE IT AND WRITE ON PAPER SO PS CAN SEE WHERE YOU ARE AT. I DO MINE THREE TIMES A DAY.THEN YOU TOTALLY SQUEEZE THE BALL AS HARD AS YOU CAN TO GET ALL THE AIR OUT OF IT AND POP THE LIL LID BACK ON. THAT MAKES THE SUCTION COME OUT. OK NOW NEXT. I HAD THE PANNI, MONS/VAGINA, AND ABDOMINAL DONE. I WAS VERY BAD. INS PAYED ALSO...THEY DECIDED AGAINST THE PERKING UP OF THE KIDS BUT OH WELL... SOASK YOUR PS DO THEY USE THE ON-Q BAG.. ITS A BAG LIKE A TELLITUBBIE WEARS LOL AND IS PUT ATTACHED TO YOU WHILE IN SURGERY. IT DOESNT HURT OR ANYTHING. I HAD THE LIL ATTACHMENTS IN ON BOTH TOP THIGHS. ANOTHER REASON FOR NO UNDIES LOL.. IT HAS NUMBING MEDS IN IT. GO TO WWW.ASKYOURSURGEON.COM AND WILL SEE ALL ABOUT IT. MINE HAD MARCAINE IN IT. OR THATS WHAT IT SAID ANYWAY ON THE INSIDE OF THE BAG. BUT OVERALL I FEEL GREAT. JUST GET TIRED REALLY EASY LIKE WITH WLS...GIRL DONT THINK NO PANTS GONNA GET ON MY BUTT ANYTIME SOON... THEY DONE THE ANCHOR CUT AND THATS DOWN THE WHOLE FRONT AND MEETS AT THE PUBIC AREA ALMOST AND THEM GOES HIP TO HIP.. AINT BRAVE ENOUGH YET FOR THAT LOL... Hi Marge, Thank you soooo much for giving me an overview on the road that I too will be travelin' soon.  Thanks for the heads-up about drains....it didn't even occur to me that wearing undies and pants would be an issue..but it sure makes sence.  I don't own many skirts or dresses..except what I throw on when I get home ya know.  I had an incisional wound infection after my wls so I was on a "wound vac" sounds like the same type of dealy, but that sucker was pumping 24/7.  My big issue is how soon I can get back to work..and now it is, what can I wear and what I might be dangling along with me.  I'm sure it will all be worth it in the long run..Thanks wls bud!
