Ok, ok, so I didn't make it to the gym yesterday or today! SIGH..... But I did take the poochie dog for a walk yesterday and we both enjoyed it so much we'll definitely be doing it again today! So tell us, what did you do today to move-to-lose?? PS.  Lorraine.... yes I don't need as much sleep now.... if I go to bed before 8:00 PM I'm wide awake around 1:30 or 2 AM and my mind and body are off and running.....   I already get to work betweeen 3:15 and 3:30 AM to do the gym and stuff before I go upstairs... if I get much earlier, I'm gonna ask if I can start a night shift!  LOL

I am so glad you said something about the amount of sleep ones body needs. I only sleep about 5 to 7 hours per day maybe, I know for sure 5 hours.  I thought something was wrong with me. Today  I woke up late so I was only able to complete 50 min of cardio and then i had to go. I have a lot of shopping to do tonight so I know I will have more than enough exercise for the day.  We are getting a new puppy too. I am so excited he is a toy poodle don't know what I am going to name him yet.  Well I hope everyone is have a wonderful day and keep up the good workouts. Lorraine

Hi, Karen!  Walking still counts as exercise, even though it doesn't happen in the gym!  If you're like me though, walking is something I do for pleasure now, not exercise.  Plus, I can't walk fast enough to get my heart rate into even the bottom of my cardio zone; I'd need to run, and the ole knees just can't handle that!   As far as my exercise for the day, I lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch time.  Was originally planning to go back and do cardio after work, but I think I'll go home and cut my grass instead.  Then I won't have that chore on my weekend to-do list!   Have a great weekend!  Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move today! Karen, I went to water aerobics this morning - I was able to get my son to go with me.  The water felt great since it's been SO hot here the past few days.

I went to the rec center and did 40 minutes of in-line skating machine while chatting with a nice retired couple I see from time to time working out there.  I then went to the other rec center and did an aqua arthritis class.  I was going to stay for open swim, but there were too many people in the pool (it's a small pool).  And frankly, I was tired!  Kix

I'm with you guys on the sleep thing - I am up every morning at 4am and it doesn't even phase me. That never would of happened before surgery! Today was interval training day, I did 22 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the stairmaster. This week has been rough, I felt like was dragging in the morning and my body has been so sore (period started and my back was not happy). But today I felt pretty good, energetic and awake! The food monster finally disappeared too (he has been HOUNDING me this week - I actually had a friend at work take some of my snacks and lock them in his office. All of the snacks were perfectly healthy, but I was out of control! I was craving anything I could get my hands on!) I know this was partly my period, which is a first for me since surgery. But I made it through it with only one REALLY BAD DAY. And I kept up with my exercise, which helped a little. This food thing is never going away and this week was a good reminder of how quickly I can revert to old habits. Keeps me humble.
