Hello...What is best day during your menstrual cycle to have surgery? I know there is a connection, and some days are better than others, but what days are most optimal for surgery? Thank you, Lee

Gee I was so excited to have a surgery date that I took what ever they gave me and didn't give it a thought. I do not have reg periods any more though. AND surgeries can make you start when your not suppose to anyway. Thats what happened on my knee replacement. Pam

I've never heard this before, but suspect that it may be true.  I believe that at certain points in our cycle our iron counts are lower because of the bleeding.  But unless your iron is too low, I don't think this would be a significant issue.  If you're comfortable with one of the nurses in your surgeon's office, I'd suggest asking her.  Otherwise, I'd just take whatever surgery date they give you! Best of luck on your continuing journey! Kellie

Since I was on birth control, I timed my surgery to be right after my period, that way I was less likely to have one in the hospital.  One less hassle.
