Tonight is the first night of classes, so I probably won't get in a workout today.

I hit the gym at lunch time for cardio.  Did 25 minutes on the elliptical, 13 minutes on the stair-stepper, then a 5-minute cooldown on a bike.  The stair-stepper kicks my butt!   Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move today! Kellie

Hi Karen, I had a long meeting today so I couldn't stay at the gym very long. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill at a 11.0 incline at 3.5 mph. I burned 408 calories. Take care, Diana

We went down to Pueblo today to attend the Colorado State Fair.  What a crappy state fair!  I was quite disappointed -- the fair still has another week to run, and it seemed like many of the exhibitors had already taken their animals and gone home.    The fair exhibits where people enter things like homemaking arts, visual arts, etc., were also poorly organized.  It was impossible to tell in which group each entry belonged.  I did enjoy the 4-H exhibit hall, even if I did feel inadequate when I saw that 8 yr old kids sew better than I do. Anyway, I had planned to rent a scooter at the fairgrounds, but I saved $45 when they refused to rent one to me because it was lightly drizzling outside.  I can't imagine why an outdoor scooter cannot be used outside, but what do I know?  Luckily, we brought my wheeled walker with the built-in seat, so I ended up walking all over the fairgrounds.  My knees did get a bit sore near the end of the day after all that walking, but I only needed three very short rest breaks.  I take the walker so I can be sure to have some place to sit when I need a break. We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home.  I haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel since I lived in Missouri!  I had half of a tasty cheeseburger (no bun), and a very small salad with a tomato on it.  Yum!   Back to the rec center tomorrow, Kix

I didn't get to post yesterday, so I'm posting this morning. I did 4 1/2 hours of swim lessons yesterday.  That means 4 1/2 hours of a combination of swimming, running or walking in the pool up and down the lane lines teaching the kids how to improve their strokes.
